Abstract

Denna uppsats består av en litteraturöversikt som undersöker vad forskningen säger om storskalig etablering av energiinfrastruktur och dess potential att bidra till landsbygdsutveckling. Särskilt fokus ligger på vindkraft men även annan förnyelsebar energi berörs som jämförelse. I samband med energiinvesteringarna diskuteras även begreppet landsbygdsutveckling. Litteraturöversikten syftar till att belysa exempel från både globala nord och globala syd. Uppsatsen resonerar kring studier av hur man kan prognostisera förväntat utfall av arbetstillfällen vid framtida vindkraftsetableringar, samt vilka skillnader som kan ses beroende på om ägandeskapet av satsningarna karaktäriseras av lokalt eller centraliserat ägandeskap. Uppsatsen använder en planerad vindkraftsetablering utanför Öland hämtad från verkligheten, som exempel för att illustrera och jämföra teser, perspektiv och forskningsresultat.

This essay consists of a literature review that aims to take a closer look at the research focusing on large-scale energy infrastructure establishments potential to contribute to rural development. The main focus has been to highlight the potential beneficial effects of wind power, but comparisons are made with other renewable energy production. In addition, the essay also discusses the concept of rural development, in relation to the energy investments. The literature review aims to highlight examples from both the global North and the Global South. The essay discusses studies of employment outcomes forecasting from future wind power establishments and shed light on the differences that can be seen depending on whether the ownership of the investments are of local or central character. The essay uses a planned wind power establishment offshore of Öland taken from reality, as an example to illustrate and compare theses, perspectives, and research results.
