Abstract

Efterfrågan på tidningspapper har succesivt minskat de senaste åren, något som skapat utmaningar för skogsindustrin. En ändrad efterfrågan kan kräva en förändring av skogsbrukets attityd i form av högre grad av innovation. Innovation syftar till forskning och utveckling av befintliga konkurrensfördelar, något som kan öka ett företags konkurrenskraft. Denna studie kartlade vad respondenter från större företag från blandade sektorer och mindre företag på skogssektorn ansåg om innovativa samarbeten. Studiens syfte var att ta reda på vilka faktorer som påverkar ett innovativt samarbete konstruktivt och alt. destruktivt, samt vilka meningsskiljaktigheter det eventuellt finns mellan de olika grupperna.
Material som användes till studien insamlades av forskningsinstitutet Innventia under workshops med deltagare från olika företag där 21 stycken påståenden angående innovativt samarbete utvärderades. För denna studie valdes och analyserades data från två grupper, en med större företag från olika sektorer och en med mindre företag från skogssektorn.
Det rådde en generell konsensus mellan grupperna vilka påståenden som var konstruktiva respektive destruktiva. Undantaget var huruvida det är var konstruktiv eller destruktivt om det större företaget gjorde sina investeringsbeslut separat från det mindre företaget. Resultatet visade även att det mest konstruktiva för ett samarbete är att ledningen är engagerad i samarbetet, det mest destruktiva å andra sidan anses vara att ett administrativt system från det större företaget introduceras till det mindre.

Demand for newsprint has gradually decreased in recent years, which has created challenges for the forestry industry. This changing demand may require a change of attitude of forestry in terms of higher degree of innovation. The purpose of innovation is research and development of existing competitive edge, which can enhance a company’s competitiveness. This study surveyed how respondents from larger companies from mixed sectors and smaller companies in the forestry sector considered innovative collaborations. The study aims to find out which factors that have a constructive and destructive influence on innovative cooperation, and what differences there might be between the different groups.
Materials used for the study was gathered by the research institute Innventia during workshops with participants from different companies who made an evaluation of 21 statements regarding innovative collaboration. For this study two sets of data were used, one consisting of major companies from mixed sectors and one consisting of smaller companies from the forestry sector.
There was a general consensus among the groups regarding which allegations were constructive or destructive. The exception was whether it was constructive or destructive to the cooperation if the larger company made their investment decisions separate from the smaller company. The results also showed that the most constructive for cooperation is that the management is committed to cooperation, the most destructive on the other hand was that an administrative system from the larger company was introduced to the smaller.
