Abstract

Syftet med examensarbetet är att skapa en exempel-
samling som kan användas vägledande och
inspirerande vid omgestaltning av bostadsgårdar, till
förmån för ekosystemtjänster. Exempelsamlingen tar
även upp skötselaspekten, då denna påverkar
resultatet på kort och lång sikt. Syftet är också att
visa på och diskutera hur Utvärderingsverktyget för
ekosystemtjänster, framtaget av Sweco och
Riksbyggen, kan användas vid omgestaltning och
om verktyget eventuellt kan anpassas till detta.
Förhoppningen är att examensarbetet ska bidra till
en ökad förståelse för och betydelsen av att främja
ekosystemtjänster i småskaliga projekt.
Ekosystemtjänster är de positiva effekter ekosystemen ger till människors välbefinnande. Idag
förtätas städer och berövas på den stadsnära naturen.
Detta gör att den biologiska mångfalden hotas vilket
i sin tur gör att ekosystemtjänster uteblir. Som
landskapsarkitekt har man möjlighet att påverka
stadens utveckling mot ett mer hållbart samhälle.
Därför är dessa kunskaper viktiga att ha med sig i
yrkesrollen.
Olika verktyg används i dagsläget för att utvärdera
mark som exploateras. Riksbyggens Utvärderings-
verktyg för ekosystemtjänster är ett av dessa och
detta används för att utvärdera mark vid markförvärv. Ett önskemål om att se om och hur verktyget
kan användas även vid omgestaltning av befintliga
bostadsgårdar finns från företaget. Ytterligare ett önskemål finns om att ta fram exempellösningar
som visar på hur gestaltningen kan ta sig uttryck.
Exempellösningarna i arbetet tas fram genom
teoretiskt stöd, platsbesök i Ekostaden Augustenborg
och Bo01 i Malmö samt egen kunskap och
erfarenhet. Malmö är en stad som satsat mycket
på hållbar stadsutveckling de senaste åren. De två
referensprojekten har visat på god tillämpning av
hållbara lösningar, såsom öppen dagvattenhantering
och artrika gröna tak. Områdena har på grund av
sin profilering mot en hållbar utveckling blivit väl-
besökta inspirationsprojekt.
Exempellösningarna tillämpas slutligen i en
omgestaltning av bostadsrättsföreningen Vivalla i
Uppsala. Detta för att visa på hur exempellösningarna kan användas och för att se hur resultatet i Utvärderingsverktyget kan se ut vid omgestaltning.

The aim of this study is to create a collection of examples, which can be used for guidance and inspiration when redesigning residential yards with the focus to provide ecosystem services. The collection of examples examines the management aspect, as this affects the outcome of a designed project in the short and the long term. The aim is also to demonstrate and discuss how the Riksbyggen Evaluation Tool for ecosystem services can be used in redesign and if possible, how it could be adapted. The study also contributes to a greater understanding of and the emphasis on ecosystem services in small-scale projects.
Ecosystem services are the positive effects, which the ecosystems give to people’s wellbeing. The city nature is today under the threat from growing population and increased settlement. This means that even the biodiversity is threatened, which makes the ecosystem services to fail. The landscape architect has the opportunity to influence on the town's development towards a more sustainable society. Therefore, this knowledge is important to be aware of in the professional role.
Today, different types of tools are used to evaluate land that’s going to be exploited. One of these is Riksbyggens Evaluation Tool for ecosystem services, which is used to evaluate land for new usage. The company wants to know if and how the evaluation tool could possible be used for redesign projects. They also want examples of solutions that show how the design can be presented.
The examples of solutions are developed through theoretical studies, site visits in the eco-city Augustenborg and Bo01 in Malmö and own knowledge and experiences. Malmö is a city that has invested a lot on sustainable urban development inthe recent years. The two reference projects have shown good application of sustainable solutions, such as open storm water management and species-rich green roofs. These areas have become popular and inspirational projects because of the profile towards the sustainable developments.
The examples of solutions are applied in a redesign proposalat the residential yard Vivalla in Uppsala. This is to show how the examples of solutions can be used and also to get a result of the evaluation when using the evaluation tool.
