Abstract

I denna kandidatuppsats ligger fokusen på kommunen Gnesta, i Södermanlands län. Syftet är att undersöka de framtidsplaner som finns hos ungdomarna i Gnesta kommun, utifrån förutsättningarna som ges. För att analysera ungdomarnas framtidsplaner används begreppen plats (kommunen), genus, samhällsklasser och lokala identiteter.

Uppsatsen är till stor del baserad på fokusgrupper som genomfördes med fjorton elever i årskurs nio, hur deras framtidsval såg ut och varför. Till hjälp har jag även tagit del av en redan genomförd enkätstudie.

This bachelor thesis is focused on the municipality Gnesta, in Södermanland. The aim is to investigate the future plans of young inhabitants in Gnesta municipality, based on the given conditions. The themes are location (municipality), gender, social classes and local identities - to analyze how the youths in Gnesta creates their identity.

The paper is largely based on a focus groups conducted with fourteen students secondary school. They were asked how their future choices looked like and why. I have also considered an already completed survey study. The essay concludes with a brief analysis.
