Abstract

Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats är att undersöka problemområden och möjligheter kopplade till skolgårdsplanering med fokus på anpassning till barn med NPF-diagnoser. Undersökningen riktar sig till landskapsarkitekten och dess möjlighet att utöka sin förståelse av NPF-diagnoser och lämpliga designval och metoder vid arbete riktat mot tillgänglighet och inkludering i lekmiljön på skolgården. Arbetet avgränsar sig till att undersöka den anpassade grundskolans skolgård men med utgångspunkt att dess resultat är tillämpbara i allmän lekmiljö. Undersökningen genomfördes med hjälp av litteraturöversikt och intervjuer med platsbesök. Litteraturöversikten ämnar ge förförståelse om NPF och barn med NPF:s utveckling, samt existerande designmetoder för tillgänglighet och inkludering. Intervjuerna genomfördes med pedagoger på skolgårdar samt med företaget Lappset som producerar och designar lekutrustning och lekmiljöer. Resultatet presenterar en sammanställning av samtliga intervjuer fördelat i tematiska rubriker som innehåller ämnen av intresse, exempelvis säkerhet, natur, lek och sinnesupplevelser. Resultat och analys pekar på stora möjligheter till utveckling inom utformningen och att resurser finns att tillgå i yrkesverksammas kunskap. Slutsatser dras att landskapsarkitektens kunskaper i kombination med samarbete med olika aktörer, samt kunskap om brukarna, är essentiellt för skapandet av tillgängliga och inkluderande lekmiljöer.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to investigate problem areas and possibilities connected to schoolyard planning with a focus on adaptation for children with NDD-diagnoses. The investigation is aimed at the landscape architect and their possibility to expand their knowledge of NDD-diagnoses and appropriate design choices and methods for work regarding accessibility and inclusivity on the schoolyard. The work limits itself to investigating the schoolyard of the compulsory school for pupils with intellectual disabilities but with the premise of its results being applicable to the general play environment. The investigation was conducted through a literature review and interviews with field-studies. The purpose of the literature review was to give an understanding about NDD and children with NDDs’ development, as well as existing methods for accessible and inclusive design. The interviews were conducted with teachers on the schoolyards and with Lappset who produces and designs play equipment and play grounds. The results present a compilation of all interviews divided in themed headings containing areas of interest, for example safety, nature, play and sensory impressions. The result and analysis shows large possibilities for development regarding design and that there are resources to be found in the knowledge of professionals. Conclusions can be drawn that the landscape architects’ knowledge in combination with cooperation with different agents, as well as knowledge about the users, is essential in the construction of accessible and including areas for play.
