Abstract

Enkätstudien undersöker beredskapen hos hushåll på landsbygden i ett begränsat studieområde inom Tanums kommun på Sveriges västkust. Detta görs med hjälp av teorierna social sårbarhet, resiliens och materiell förmåga. Dessa begrepp tillämpas för att diskutera och analysera respondenternas svar. Studien består av 19 enkätfrågor som hushållen svarade på baserat på kriteriet att det var en kris och de kunde inte få någon extern hjälp. Frågorna berör självförsörjning av elektricitet, värme, vatten, mat, djurhållning, jakt och fiske.

Det samlade materialet diskuteras utifrån olika scenarion såsom kristid under sommarhalvåret och en kris under vinterhalvåret. Utifrån detta uttryckte sig bristande materiella förmågor och social sårbarhet hos hushållen på olika sätt. Exempelvis så hade en fjärdedel av hushållen behövt extern hjälp inom några dagar vid en kris med elavbrott under vinterhalvåret, då de saknade möjlighet att värma upp hushållet utan elektricitet. Vid en långvarig kris så hade 22% av hushållen haft svårigheter att förse sig själva med vegetabilier och 78% av hushållen hade haft svårigheter med animalier. Uppsatsen analyserar också möjliga indikatorer på social sårbarhet eller resiliens baserat på hushållens materiella förmåga kopplat till exempelvis bostadstypen

This survey study explores rural households preparedness within a limited study area on the west coast of Sweden. The study uses theoretical concepts such as social vulnerability, resilience and material ability. These concepts are used to discuss and analyse the respondents answers. The survey consists of 19 questions that the respondents got to answer based on the criteria that there was a crisis and the household could not get any external aid. The questions touch areas related to self-sufficiency such as electricity, heating, water, food, animal husbandry, hunting and fishing.

The material collected is discussed based on different scenarios such as a crisis during the summer or the winter and varying length of crisis. Lack in material ability and social vulnerability within the households expressed themselves in different ways based on these scenarios. For example a fourth of the households would need external aid in a matter of days if a crisis with failure in the power grid would occur during the winter, because these households lacked heating without electricity. In a prolonged crisis 22% of the households would lack vegetables and 78% would lack animal products such as meat. The study also presents likely indicators on social vulnerability or resilience based on the households material ability coupled with the type of housing or other factors.
