Abstract

Den globala livsmedelsmarknaden står inför utbredda problem med förfalskning och redlighet, bland annat presentation av information på etiketten. Honung är ett av dem livsmedel som är mest drabbat. Syftet med detta arbete var därför att studera hur förfalskning av honung uppfattas av konsumenter, producenter och statliga myndigheter, samt om det uppfattas som ett problem som kräver ändringar i lagstiftningen. För att genomföra studien gjordes två webbenkätundersökningar till målgrupperna biodlare och konsumenter, medan statliga myndigheter representerades av lagstiftningen. Resultatet visade att definitionen på förfalskning av honung skiljer sig något mellan de olika målgrupperna, samt att förfalskning är ett problem som kräver förändring. Belägg finns för lagändring gällande information på etiketten på importerad honung samt att tydliggöra skillnaden mellan äkta honung och honungsprodukter.

The global food market is facing widespread issues of food adulteration and authenticity, with honey being one of the most affected foods. This study aimed to investigate how consumers, producers, and government authorities perceive food adulteration of honey and whether they believe it is a problem that requires changes in legislation. The study involved two online surveys targeting beekeepers and consumers, while government agencies represented the legislative aspect. The results revealed a slight difference in the definition of honey adulteration among the different target groups. The study also suggested that changes are necessary for the legislation regarding information on the label of imported honey and highlighted the need to clarify the distinction between authentic honey and honey products.
