Abstract

Jordens natur- och kulturarv är hotat av flera faktorer, däribland okunskap. Arbetet syftar till att undersöka hur naturnära kulturmiljöer kan användas för barns lek och pedagogisk förmedling av platsens historia. Arbetet riktar fokus mot Knivsta kommun och kulturmiljön Broborg och använder platsen som exempel för att ta fram utvecklingsmöjligheter för att göra platsen mer intresseväckande och lärorik för barn i förskoleåldern. Resultatet presenterar nuläget för Broborg och identifierar flera möjligheter för anpassning och utveckling för platsen. Trots bristen på lekredskap kan den varierande terrängen och vegetationen erbjuda en stimulerande lekmiljö. Inom perspektivet utomhuspedagogik betonas vikten av att använda platsens historia som ett verktyg i lärandet där förslag inkluderar en klassrumsliknande plats för utomhusundervisning och förslag som gör platsen mer tillgänglig för alla barn. Fullständig tillgänglighet bedöms som osannolik. Slutsatserna stöds av tidigare forskning som framhåller naturen och kulturmiljöer som viktiga resurser för barns lek och lärande. Genom att använda dessa insikter konkret i ett förslag ger arbetet ett praktiskt exempel på hur naturnära kulturmiljöer kan utvecklas för barns förståelse för kulturhistorien och perspektivet dåtid, nutid och att de har möjlighet att påverka framtiden. Arbetet avslutas med en reflektion över teoretiska ramverk och erkänner möjligheten av barns perspektiv inte nödvändigtvis återspeglas i bedömningen av Broborg. Sammantaget bidrar detta kandidatexamensarbete till diskussionen om hur man kan utveckla naturnära kulturmiljöer för barn samtidigt som möjligheterna för kulturarvets bevarande ökas genom barns ökade kunskap.

The natural and cultural heritage of the Earth is threatened by several factors, including ignorance. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how natural cultural environments can be used for children’s play and educational communication of the site’s history. Knivsta municipality and the cultural environment of Broborg, is used as an example to identify development opportunities to make it more engaging and educational for preschool-aged children. The results present the current state of Broborg and identify several possibilities for adaptation and development for the site. Despite the lack of play equipment, the varied terrain and vegetation can provide a stimulating play environment. When it comes to outdoor education, the importance of using the site's history as a tool in learning is emphasized, with suggestions including a classroom-like space for outdoor teaching and proposals to make the site more accessible to all children. Full accessibility is deemed unlikely. The conclusions are supported by previous research highlighting nature and cultural environments as crucial resources for children's play and learning. By applying these insights concretely in a proposal, the essay provides a practical example of how nature-oriented cultural environments can be developed for children's understanding of cultural history and the perspective of the past, present, and their ability to influence the future. The essay concludes with a reflection on theoretical frameworks and acknowledges the possibility that children's perspectives may not necessarily be fully reflected in the assessment of Broborg. Overall, this essay contributes to the discussion on how to develop natural cultural environments for children while increasing the opportunities for preserving cultural heritage through children's enhanced knowledge.
