Abstract

Det här arbetet handlar om ungas trygghet och hur det kan uppnås i fritidsmiljön och är uppdelad i tre delar: litteraturstudie, fallstudie och ett utvecklingsförslag till framför allt ökad trygghet på fritidsgården Tegelhusets uteplats. Barns rättighet till en trygg och säker utemiljö har genom FN:s barnkonvention inkluderats i svensk lag. Ungas identitet formas av sin utemiljö och att ge barn en inkluderande och meningsfull fritid är viktigt för ens känsla av trygghet. ​Även fast ordet otrygghet kopplas till rädslan att bli utsatt för brott separeras det allmän otrygghetsupplevelse och konkret otrygghetsupplevelse. ​Undersökning pekar på att både tjejer och killar känner sig otrygga utomhus men att det kan grunda sig i olika saker. Det finns ingen standardlösning för att minska otryggheten, dock kan man genom god gestaltning, vegetation, skötsel och belysning möjligtvis hjälpa till med att öka känslan av trygghet. Genom en framtagen checklista för trygghet med litteraturstudien som en utgångspunkt utförs en fallstudie för att öka förståelsen över platsen. Efter detta gjordes ett förslag med utvecklingsmöjligheter för att öka tryggheten på platsen samt för att uppfylla den önskade funktionen som de anställda på fritidsgården haft.

This thesis is about adolescence’s security and how it can be achieved in recreational spaces and is divided into three parts: a literature study, a case study and a development proposal to increase the sense of security at Tegelhuset’s outdoor space. Childrens’ right to have a secure outdoor space has through the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) been included in Swedish law. Adolescents' identity is shaped by their outdoor environment and giving them an inclusive and meaningful spare time is important for one’s sense of security. Although the word insecurity is linked to the fear of being exposed to crime, it is seperated into the general experience of insecurity and the concrete experience of security. Analysis indicated that both girls and boys feel insecure outdoors but that it’s based on different factors. There is no standard solution on reducing the sense of security, however, through good design, vegetation, management and lighting, you can possibly help to increase the sense of security. With help from a developed checklist for security based on the literature study as a starting point, a case study is carried out to increase the understanding of Tegelhuset. After this, a proposal is made with development opportunities to increase security on site and to fulfill the desired function that the employees at Tegelhuset have.
