Abstract

I denna uppsats görs en studie av utemiljön på förskolan Skatan i Bagarmossen, söder om Stockholm. En förståelse för hur utemiljön används och vilka behov verksamheten har är ett centralt fokus i studien. Inventering av gårdsmiljön, observationer samt intervjuer med barn och pedagoger sammanställs i en analys av hur utemiljön fungerar och kan utvecklas vidare. För fortsatt utveckling föreslås att fortsätta ta vara på barn och pedagogers kompetens, öka grönska och andelen löst lekmaterial samt bevara de öppna ytorna. Samtidigt konstateras att det är svårt att möta verksamhetens behov och önskemål utifrån rådande storleksförutsättningar. Därför föreslås att utöka gårdsytans storlek genom ett samutnyttjande med Stockholms stad.

This thesis presents a study of the outdoor environment of the pre-school Skatan, which is situated in the suburb Bagarmossen, south of Stockholm. The focus of the study is to gain an understanding of how the outdoor environment is being used and to identify the needs of the pre-school. The study is conducted through an inventory of the outdoor environment, on sight observations and interviews with children and staff. The function of the outdoor environment and how it could be further developed is summarized in the analysis. To enable further development of the outdoor environment, this study suggests that the competence and knowledge of the children and staff should be taken in to consideration and that the green areas and accessible loose material for the children to play with should be increased. It is also important that the existing open areas will be preserved. At the same time the study concludes that it is difficult to meet the needs of the pre-school with the preexisting conditions regarding the size of the outdoor environment. Therefore the study suggests increasing the area through a co-share area with Stockholms stad.
