Abstract

Det här examensarbetet handlar om den arkitektoniska arbetsprocessen i ett landskapsarkitektuppdrag. Varför blev det som det blev och hade det kunnat göras annorlunda?

Syftet med arbetet är att klargöra och generalisera arbetsprocessen genom en fallstudie. Går det att se några generella strukturer i utformningsprocessen? Studiens metod är att rekonstruera arbetsprocessen genom en fallstudie med de skisser och ritningar som finns kvar. Arbetsprocessen analyseras och tolkas sedan med hjälp av några designteoretiska begrepp och metoder för att möjliggöra en generalisering och klargöra arbetsprocessens struktur.

Projektet Hälsobrunnen var en nybyggnation av en förskolegård i Vasastaden i Stockholm som utfördes mellan 2012-2014. Uppdraget bestod av att ta fram förslagshandling och bygghandlingar inför byggnation åt fastighetsbolaget Micasa som var beställare. Arbetsprocessens förlopp delas in i olika faser och beskrivs ingående och detaljerat. Processen pendlar fram och tillbaka med sina olika utredningar och diskussioner kring funktioner, ekonomi och skötselaspekter, mellan landskapsarkitekten och beställaren. Landskapsarkitekten bearbetar varje diskussion till en ny version, där de nytillkomna aspekterna vävs in i designen. Rekonstruktionen av projektet diskuteras och tolkas i diskussionsavsnittet med de designteoretiska begreppen som ett verktyg.

Det har blivit tydligt för mig genom denna studie att det generella i arkitektens arbetsprocess handlar om
kommunikation. Och att skisser och uppslag är viktiga redskap för att kommunicera med beställare och brukare. Uppslagen utforskas om och om igen i en spiralformig struktur. Skissandet är en förutsättning för den kreativa processen. Idéer formas då arkitekten har en dialog med skissen i en spontan, omedveten reflexion i handlingen.

This thesis is about the architectural working process during a landscape architect commission. Why did it turn out the way it did and could things have been done differently?

The purpose with the thesis is to clarify and generalize the architectural designing process through a case study. Can you see any general structures in the designing process during the project? The method is to reconstruct the designing process through a case study with sketches and plans from the project. The process is then analysed and interpreted using concepts of design theory to enable a generalization and clarification of the structure of the designing process.

The project Hälsobrunnen was the recreation of the outdoor space for a kindergarten in Vasastaden, Stockholm. The project was carried out between 2012-2014. The assignment consisted of preparing a design proposal and construction drawings for the real estate company Micasa.

The process in the project of “Hälsobrunnen” is reconstructed at a detailed level with a case study. In the project the events of the design process is divided into different phases. The process commutes back and forth with its various investigations and discussions about features, finances and management aspects, between the landscape architect and the client. The landscape architect processes each discussion into a new version, where the newly added aspects are weaved into the design. The reconstruction of the project is discussed and interpreted in the discussion section with the design theoretic concepts as a tool.

It has become clear to me that the general in the architectural designing process is about communication. Sketches and plans are important tools for communicating with commissioner and user. Sketches are discussed over and over again with the primary generator as an engine. It is the spiral shaped structure of the process. The sketching is a foundation for the creative process. Ideas are formed when the architect conducts at dialog with the sketch in a spontaneous, unaware reflection in action.
