Abstract

För att människor ska kunna delta och trivas på likvärdiga villkor i samhället har
landskapsarkitekter ett ansvar att anpassa utomhusmiljöer efter olika
behov. Grönområden såsom parkmiljöer bidrar med positiva effekter för
människans hälsa och välbefinnande. Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka
vilka behov personer med synnedsättning har för att kunna ta del av offentliga
parkmiljöer. Detta undersöktes med hjälp av kvalitativa semistrukturerade
intervjuer, likt ett samtal, vilket möjliggjorde att informanterna själva kunde
påverka innehållet i resultatet. Totalt medverkade 16 informanter i olika åldrar med
olika grad av synnedsättning och en specialpedagog med kunskap om syn. I
resultatet framgår det att åtgärder såsom färg- och ljushetskontraster, taktila
material, lokaliseringsljud och informationsskyltar krävs för en god tillgänglighet
samt orienterbarhet. Dock innebär den individuella synförmågan att det behövs en
variation av åtgärder för att tillgodose olika behov hos personer med
synnedsättning av olika grad. Nyckelord; orienterbarhet, parkmiljöer,

In order for people to be able to access and enjoy physical outdoor space in the
society on equal terms, landscape architects carry a responsibility to adjust these
environments to the varying needs amongst the public. Green spaces such as public
parks contribute to the health and wellbeing of the people who have access to them.
The purpose of this essay was to examine needs in order to design accessible and
enjoyable public park environments for people with any kind of visual impairment.
Qualitative and semi-structured interviews were carried out with a total of 16
people of different ages and with different visual impairments. One of the
interviewees works, as a special educational needs teacher with knowledge of
vision. The chosen method of interviewing enables the interviewees to strongly
influence the content of the interview and therefore the end result of this work. The
result from the interviews show that certain measures can be taken when designing
parks, which are essential to ensuring that people with a visual impairment have
access to them. Such measures include; using contrasting colours and light, using
tactile materials as well as sounds and information boards for orientation. Since the
degree of sight varies amongst people with visual impairment, it is important that
the measures taken are plentiful and varied to ensure that different needs are being
