Abstract

Detta examensarbete presenterar ett idéförslag till en takträdgård som kommer att anläggas på IVA/HBO, en av de nya huskropparna som byggs i samband med förtätningsprojektet som pågår på Östra Sjukhuset i Göteborg idag. Syftet med arbetet har varit att undersöka hur ett svenskt naturlandskap kan användas som ett arkitektoniskt gestaltningsgrepp på ett grönt tak. Arbetet består av en text-del som kan läsas i A4 eller A3 och en presentations-del i A2 format.

Med bakgrund i vår svenska landskapsarkitektur med tradition att inspireras av naturen har jag undersökt tre naturlandskap på Vrångö i Göteborgs skärgård. Naturlandskapen valdes utifrån de förutsättningar jag tagit fram i förstudien, generella förutsättningar för gröna tak men också specifika för den aktuella takträdgården på Östra Sjukhuset. Naturen dokumenterade jag i fotografier, skisser och text som jag sedan omsatte genom en krokig gestaltningsprocess till ett idéförslag. Som hjälp för att dokumentera i ord analyserade jag Tove Janssons böcker 'Sommarboken och 'Sent i November'.

Reflektionen i textdokumentets avslutande del presenterar hur examensarbetets syfte blivit uppfyllt och hur det svarar på frågeställningar som följt arbetet. Här presenteras viktiga vägskäl jag stött på under arbetets gång och hur de använda metoderna fungerat.

Idéförslaget presenteras på tre stycken A2:or och speglar den svenska naturen som framträder i en stiliserad form. Under en promenad på takträdgården rör sig besökaren genom flera olika rumsligheter och får uppleva en grönska och utformning med sin fot i Göteborgs skärgård.

The objective of this master thesis was to investigate how a part of the native nature in Sweden could be implemented as architecture in a design proposal of a roof top garden. The result is represented in a design proposal of a roof top garden that will be placed on IVA/HBO, one of the new buildings that will be built at the hospital area of Östra Sjukhuset in Gothenburg. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first one with text and and the second one as a presentation.

I have examined three landscapes at Vrångö in the Gothenburg Archipelago with the Swedish landscape architecture in mind and it’s tradition to be inspired by nature. The sites were chosen from the conditions I put together in the pre study, both general conditions for green roofs and also more specific conditions for the roof top garden at Östra Sjukhuset. I dokumented the nature with photographs, sketches and text, which then turned into a design proposal after a long and winding process. As aid in how to document and describe nature in words I analysed Tove Janssons books ’Sommarboken’ and ’Sent i november’.

The reflection in the last part of the text document presents how the objective of the master’s thesis have been fulfilled and how it answers the questions which have followed the work. The important crossroads I have met through the working process are presented here, as well as how the methods I have used worked.

The design proposal is presented on three A2 pages and are reflecting the Swedish nature which appears in a stylized form. During a walk in the roof top garden the visitor is moving through several rooms and get to experience the greenery and shapes of the Gothenburg archipelago.
