Abstract

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka temporär gestaltning på musikfestivaler med utgångspunkt i Peace & Love-festivalen.
Vid tillfälliga evenemang är det viktigt att estetik och funktion går att förena, vilket landskapsarkitekter ständigt övas i. Genom en litteraturstudie och samtal med företrädare för Peace & Love-festivalen gjordes en undersökning. Litteraturen berörde musikfestivaler ur olika vinklar. Uppsatsen avgränsades till att främst beröra gestaltningen i mellanrummen mellan scener och större tält. Litteraturstudien och samtalen med företrädarna låg
som grund för ett program. Utifrån programmet togs sedan en
övergripande gestaltningsidé fram, som redovisades i form av en plan, skisser och förklarande text. I gestaltningsidén skapades ett klarrött stråk för att underlätta orienterbarheten. Punkter som kunde kännas otrygga belystes och mer aktivitet fördes in på området
i form av sittskulpturer. Uppsatsens arbete visade att ett av de viktigaste syftena med temporär gestaltning på musikfestivaler är att ge platsen en identitet som överensstämmer med festivalens.
En annan viktig funktion som identifierades var att den temporära gestaltningen ska inbjuda till aktivitet och social interaktion.
Det upptäcktes att tillgänglighet är en aspekt som ofta kommer i skymundan. En möjlig orsak till detta är att friheten och den kaosartade strukturen uppskattas av besökarna.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the temporary design of music festivals, with primary focus on the Peace & Love-festival.
Function and aestetichs are both important aspects when temporary events are built. Landscape architects often work to union these two aspects to get pleasing outdoor spaces. The method that was used in this work was a survey of literature about music festivals from different angles, and a dialog with people from Peace & Love. The focus of this essay is the temporary design in the space between
stages and large tents. The literature survey and the dialogs were used to work out a programme, which the idea of temporary design were based upon. The idea was presented as a plan, sketches and an explanatory text. The idea was to make a lane in carmine red, that allows the visitors f nd their way easier. Places that could feel unsafe were lit up and sitting sculptures were made to encourage social interaction and activity. this essay showed that one of the
most important purposes of the temporary design were to give the festival and the temporary place an identity. At the time of writing this essay, it was discovered that accesibility often is in the dark. A possible reason for this is that the freedom and the chaos are valued to the visitors.
