Abstract

Arbetet handlar om stationssamhället Vinslöv som står inför en förändring. Förändringen innebär att det kommer ske en försämring av kollektivtrafikens utbud. I dagsläget erbjuds både buss- och tågtrafik, men inom en snar framtid kommer tåget att utgöra enda möjligheten. Problematiken kring
kollektivtrafiken har stort inflytande på studien och var också utgångspunkt till valet av Vinslöv.

Järnvägen är återigen i fokus i samhällsplaneringen och Trafikverket har framställt många genomarbetade dokument för att försäkra sig om att järnvägen utvecklas till ett hållbart, säkert och smidigt transportmedel.

Det finns också mål på nationell nivå som måste uppfyllas när det gäller tågtrafiken. Detta arbete ger en sammanfattande bild av den problematik och de regler som finns utmed järnvägen. Utifrån detta material tas alla råd och regler ett steg längre, nämligen till en verklig situation.

Syftet med studien är att skapa förutsättning för attraktiv tågpendling genom att göra ett tillägg i Vinslövs tätorts översiktsplan. Detta i sin tur förstärker Vinslövs chans att leva vidare som attraktivt stationssamhälle. Målet är
att presentera principer och riktlinjer för Vinslövs utveckling, samt att ge förslag på specifika åtgärder som måste verkställas för att tåget ska locka fler resenärer. Studien har resulterat i sex övergripande planeringsmål samt
föreslagna åtgärder med olika detaljnivå.

Järnvägen har spelat en stor roll i Vinslövs utveckling och än idag har den stor inverkan på samhället och de boende inom och utanför tätorten. Arbetet tar fasta på kollektivtrafikens situation och för ett resonemang över vad förändringen kan innebära för Vinslövsbornas livsstil och vardag. Det förs också ett resonemang om cykelvägarnas framtid. Studien visar att säkra cykelvägar är en bra grundförutsättning när man vill höja tågtrafikens
attraktivitet. Resenären måste sättas i fokus och det är resenärens behov som måste uppfyllas.

För att ta reda på vad som krävs för att uppnå en attraktiv tågtrafik i Vinslöv har olika metoder använts. En av huvudmetoderna är en litteraturstudie med fokus på järnvägen. Arbetets andra huvuddel är en inventering av
den befintliga situationen, där materialet senare bearbetats och utvärderats utifrån Jan Gehls teorier och analysverktyg. Analysen gav svar på brister och svagheter i den fysiska miljön och först därefter var det möjligt att finna åtgärder. De föreslagna åtgärderna är i och med den omfattande analysen starkt förankrade i den befintliga och verkliga situationen.

This master thesis is about the small country town of Vinslöv, in the south of Sweden. In the near future the town is facing a change concerning its public transport system. Today there are both busses and trains taking you to the nearest cities but soon the bus will be gone and the only public transport will be the train. This situation and the issue with the reduced public transport is the starting point for this study.

Nowadays the railway has, once again, become a big part of planning and a large amount of money is invested in the railway system these days. Trafikverket is the department who is in charge of the railways in Sweden and they have published many elaborated documents to ensure that the railway expands in a sustainable and en efficient way towards the future. Besides the goals and rules of Trafikverket, there are also international goals that to
have to be considered and turned into reality. This thesis gives a summary of the problems and rules that planners and designers have to deal with when working with the railway and its surroundings. In addition to this summery the study also brings the issue one level higher, it applies the issue in a real situation.

The general objective is to create conditions for a more attractive train commuting in Vinslöv, by adding information to the comprehensive plan. In the long run this addition will enhance the town to survive as an attractive
country town. The aim is to present principles and guidelines for the growth of Vinslöv and to suggest ideas and measurements that can contribute to an attractive train commuting. The study has resulted in six general planning
goals and some suggested actions with different level of detail.

The railway has played a major role in the history of Vinslöv and still today it affects the people and the society. This thesis deals with the issue of how to get more people to choose the train instead of the car. The study also has an emphasis about the importance of secure and efficient bicycle paths, because it is a significant aspect when it comes to attractive train commuting. The
train must offer a secure, efficient and safe transport for the people living in Vinslöv, but how will it do that?
To answer the research questions and to reach the goals different methods have been used. One main method is a literature study, which mainly concerns the railway. The other main part is an inventory and analysis of the present situation in Vinslöv, which are based on the theory of Jan Gehl. The purpose with the analysis is to make a foundation for further studies, which in the end hopefully results in a design proposal. The elaborated analysis in this thesis will ensure that the correct decisions are being made later in the process.
