Abstract

Gräsö är en ö utanför Upplandskusten i norra Roslagen. Här har
länsstyrelsen i Uppsalalän fattat beslut om att göra ett marint naturreservat
utanför öns östkust, för att bland annat bevara de grunda havsvikarna. Detta
väcker starka känslor och upplevelser hos de fastboende på ön. Vissa är för
bildandet av reservatet medan andra är emot det. Uppsatsen har tagit form
med hjälp av de grupper av informanter som finns representerade. Empirin
har samlats in från motståndare genom bland annat insändare, förespråkare
genom intervjuer och länsstyrelsen genom artiklar och deras hemsida. Som
teori har fenomenologin använts för att få syn på de underliggande
fenomenen om varför människor agerar som de gör.
Syftet med fältarbetet är att försöka få en ökad förståelse om hur
naturreservatet upplevs av öborna. Frågeställningen i uppsatsen lyder: hur
upplevs naturreservatet av informanterna?
Trotts min första tanke att det inte borde finnas något som kan knyta
samman de olika grupperna så fann jag både känslan av oro för framtiden
och en avsaknad av generell tillit. Det är viktigt att försöka hitta saker som
förenar, detta eftersom det leder till ökad förståelse och oftast även till bättre
kommunikation. Om vi kan se varandras ståndpunkter som
fenomenologerna förespråkar så ökar det också möjligheten till att förstå
varför vi reagerar som vi gör.

Gräsö is an island off the coast of Uppland in northern Roslagen.
Here, the county administrative board in Uppsala decided to make a marine
nature reserve off the island's east coast to preserve for instance the shallow
bays. This awakes strong emotions and experiences among the permanent
residents of the island. Some are for the formation of the reserve, while
others are against it. The thesis has taken shape with the help of the groups
of informants who are represented. The empirical data were collected from
opponents to the reserve by including: letters to the editor, advocacy
through interviews and the county board through articles and their website.
In theory, phenomenology has been used to see the underlying phenomena
of why people act the way they do.
The field work seeks to provide a better understanding of how the
nature reserve is felt by the islanders. The issue addressed in the paper is:
how is the nature reserve perceived by the informants?
In spite of my first thought that it would be nothing that connecting
the different groups, I found both the feeling of anxiety before the future
and the lack of general trust to be common denominators. It is important to
try to find things that unite, because they lead to a greater understanding and
often also to better communication. If we can see Each other`s positions as
the phenomenology advocates it also increases the possibility of
understanding why we react as we do.
