Abstract

Entreprenörer på landsbygden spelar en viktig roll för det lokala samhället genom att skapa arbetstillfällen, bidra till lokal service och i vissa fall spela en avgörande roll för lokal försörjning. I glesbyggda orter är det entreprenörerna som fyller de tomrum som uppstår när staten eller stora aktörer inte längre kan eller vill driva sina verksamheter. Utan landsbygdens entreprenörer skulle det bli mycket tuffare för invånarna att bo kvar i glesbyggda områden och landsbygden skulle bli mycket mindre attraktiv för nya potentiella inflyttare.
Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är att undersöka vilka faktorer som bidrar till att entreprenörer på landsbygden utvecklar och bibehåller resiliens i sina verksamheter. Studien tar avstamp i teorin om entreprenöriella ekosystem för att analysera hur företag genom samspel kan skapa förutsättningar för att utveckla sin resiliens. Vidare används teorin om bricolage för att förstå hur entreprenörer kan ta vara på sina befintliga resurser på landsbygden där det råder begränsad åtkomst till ytterligare resurser. För att besvara studiens syfte genomförs en kvalitativ fallstudie med induktiv ansats, där semistrukturerade intervjuer med tre olika entreprenörer på Örnsköldsviks landsbygd har deltagit.
Resultaten visar att resiliens hos entreprenörerna har utvecklats genom fyra centrala nyckelkomponenter. Dessa är relationer, självförverkligande, ekonomisk kreativitet samt kreativ resurshantering. Det framkommer även att relationer är den främsta komponenten som även utgör en aktiv del i möjliggörandet av de resterande nyckelkomponenterna. Slutligen betonar studien att det är samspelet mellan dessa nyckelkomponenter som utvecklar och upprätthåller resiliensen hos entreprenörernas verksamheter på landsbygden.

Entrepreneurs in rural areas play an important role in the local community by creating employment opportunities, contributing to local services, and in some cases playing a crucial role in local supply and provision. In low populated areas, entrepreneurs fill the gaps that arise when the state or large actors can no longer or no longer wish to operate their businesses in the area. Without rural entrepreneurs, it would become much more difficult for residents to remain living in low populated areas, and rural areas would become far less attractive to potential new residents.
The purpose of this bachelor´s thesis is to investigate which factors contribute to rural entrepreneurs developing and maintaining resilience within their business. The study is based on the theory of entrepreneurial ecosystems to analyse how business, through interaction, can create conditions for developing their resilience. Furthermore, the theory of bricolage is used to understand how entrepreneurs can make use of their existing resources in rural areas where access to additional resources is limited. To answer the purpose of the study, a qualitative case study with an inductive approach is conducted, in which semi structured interviews with three different entrepreneurs in the rural areas of Örnsköldsvik have participated.
The results show that resilience among the entrepreneurs has developed through four key components. These are relationships, self-fulfilment, economic creativity and creative resource management. It becomes evident that relationships are the primary component which also plays an active role in enabling the remaining key components. Finally, the study emphasizes that it is resilience within rural entrepreneurs’ businesses.
