Abstract

Svenska Ridsportföreningen tog under 2021 fram en hållbarhetsstrategi med mål om att alla inom ridsporten aktivt ska arbeta med hållbarhet fram till 2025. SVRF är en av de större ideella organisationerna som samlar runt en miljon individer. Då föreningarna drivs av ideella krafter och har sin utgångspunkt i vad medlemmarna vill, finns det endast riktlinjer när det kommer till hållbarhetsarbete. En ideell förening är inte vinstdrivande vilket kan påverka mängden resurser och därmed hållbarhetsarbetet. Att arbeta med hållbarhet kan vara något som skrämmer många och anses kosta mycket. Tidigare forskning kring hållbarhetsarbete är begränsat för ideella föreningar vilket försvårar arbetet och kräver mycket resurser från föreningarna, både materiella och immateriella.

Denna studie grundar sig i den resursbaserade teorin, vilket bygger på att identifiera föreningarnas nyckelresurser (materiella och immateriella). Dessa resurser används sedan i en väsentlighetsanalys som hjälper till att utveckla styrverktyg hos föreningarna.

Genom att utveckla relevanta styrverktyg som föreningarna kan implementera i sin internredovisning kan utförandet av hållbarhetsarbetet underlättas och definieras. Dessa kontroller kommer även att underlätta uppföljning av insatserna som utförts samt att det möjliggör en hållbarhetskommunikation till intressenterna. För att nå en långsiktig hållbarhet behöver alla tre hållbarhetsperspektiv (ekonomiska, sociala och miljömässiga) inkluderas i internredovisning. Därför har styrverktyg med utgångspunkt från hållbarhetsperspektiven analyserats och utvecklats. Ridskolor drivna av ideella föreningar utför många insatser som anses vara självklara som idag inte kopplas till hållbarhet, vilket visar på informella styrverktyg. Dessa anses behöva kompletteras med formella styrverktyg för att skapa en tydligare struktur vilket även underlättar uppföljning av uppsatta mål och möjliggör kommunikation med intressenterna. Sammanfattningsvis ger studien en inblick i ridskolornas och föreningarnas arbete utifrån den egna verksamheten.

In 2021, the Swedish Equestrian Association developed a sustainability strategy with the goal that everyone in equestrian sports should actively work with sustainability until 2025. SVRF is one of the largest non-profit organizations that brings together around one million individuals. As the associations are run by non-profit forces and have their starting point in what the members want, there are only guidelines when it comes to sustainability work. A non-profit association is not profit-making, which can affect the number of resources and therefore the sustainability work. Working with sustainability can be something that scares many people and is considered to cost a lot. Previous research on sustainability work is limited for non-profit associations, which makes the work more difficult and requires a lot of resources from the associations, both tangible and intangible.

This study is based on the resource-based theory, which is based on identifying the associations' key resources (material and immaterial). These resources are then used in a materiality analysis that helps develop management tools for the associations.

By developing relevant concrete tools that the associations can implement in their internal reporting, the execution of the sustainability work can be facilitated and defined. These controls will also facilitate follow-up of the efforts that have been carried out and enable sustainability communication to the stakeholders. To achieve long-term sustainability, all three sustainability perspectives (economic, social and environmental) need to be included in internal accounting. Therefore, management tools based on sustainability perspectives have been analyzed and developed. Riding schools run by non-profit associations carry out many actions that are considered self-evident and which today are not linked to sustainability, which shows informal management tools. These are considered to need to be supplemented with formal stone tools to create a clearer structure, which also facilitates the follow-up of set goals and enables communication with the stakeholders. In summary, the study provides an insight into the work of riding schools and associations based on their own operations.
