Abstract

Sinnenas trädgård i Stockholm är en rehabiliteringsträdgård skapad för äldre men platsen brukas också av allmänheten. I denna uppsats undersöks den rehabiliterande förmågan i utformningen av Sinnenas trädgård utifrån Alnarpsmetodens principer. Genom att implementera Alnarpsmetodens teori om de 8 dimensionerna och behovspyramiden undersöks hur terapiträdgården främjar hälsa och välbefinnande. Metoden omfattar en analys av Sinnenas trädgårds utformning och dess kapacitet att tillgodose människors olika behov.

Resultatet synliggör att terapiträdgården balanserar sinnesstimulans med tillgänglighet och erbjuder platser för inre engagemang, emotionellt deltagande, aktivt deltagande och utåtriktat engagemang. I diskussionen lyfts vikten av samarbete och kunskapsutbyte fram som avgörande för att liknande projekt ska kunna fortsätta att utvecklas. På så sätt kan kommande projekt också kontribuera till en positiv kulturell förändring i synen på hälsa kopplat till grönska. Landskapsarkitekten har en viktig roll i att bidra med tillgängliga, målgruppsanpassade och hälsofrämjande platser. Platser som uppfyller människors olika behov och som samtidigt erbjuder en balans mellan tillgänglighet och sinnesstimulans.

Avslutningsvis kan slutsatsen dras att människors behov av natur och grönska är återkommande och har betydelse för dess återhämtning och rehabilitering. Detta argumenterar för Sinnenas trädgårds betydelse som terapiträdgård samt som hälsofrämjande och hållbar resurs.
