Abstract

Detta arbete undersöker utemiljön vid två särskilda boenden för äldre genom ett hälsofrämjande perspektiv. Detta görs genom verktyget Quality evaluation tool (QET) och dess första steg landskapsanalys.
Genom verktyget undersökts 19 olika miljökvaliteter på respektive boende utifrån principmodellen om fyra zoner med kontakt med utemiljön. De 19 olika miljökvaliteterna delas upp i 6 miljökvaliteter som påverkar om en design kan anses bekväm och användbar för målgruppen, samt 13 stimulerande miljökvaliteter som handlar om tillgången till liv och natur i utemiljön. Miljöerna skattades på en skala från 1 till 5 utifrån hur representerade de olika miljökvaliteterna var i respektive zon. Detta presenteras i en resultatöversikt för respektive plats samt genom beskrivande text och bildexempel över hur kvaliteterna uttrycktes över de olika platserna.
Arbetet innefattar även en metodåterkoppling på användningen av verktyget genom swotanalys. Syftet med studien är dels att beskriva de två miljöerna utifrån QET och att genom dessa beskrivningar bidra med fler exempel på hur miljökvaliteterna kan te sig i uttryck. Ett annat syfte är att göra en metodåterkoppling på verktyget. Urvalet är två platser som är intressanta då de kan anses utgöra goda exempel över vårdbyggnader. Resultatet bidrar med fler visuella beskrivningar över miljökvaliteternas uttryck och en landskapsanalys i linje med steg 1 i designprocessen för QET över de två olika platserna. Utöver detta är ett bidrag den beskrivning av författarens upplevelse av att ha använt verktyget som metod genom att lyfta styrkor, svagheter, möjligheter och hot kopplat till processen.

This work examines the outdoor environment at two nursing homes for the elderly through a health-promoting perspective. This is done through the Quality evaluation tool (QET) and its first step landscape analysis.
Through the tool, 19 different environmental qualities of each residence were examined based on the principle model of four zones of contact with the outdoors. The 19 different environmental qualities are divided into 6 environmental qualities that affect whether a design can be considered comfortable and useful for the target group, as well as 13 stimulating environmental qualities that deal with access to life and nature in the outdoor environment. The environments were estimated on a scale from 1 to 5 based on how represented the different environmental qualities were in each zone. This is presented in a result overview for each location as well as through descriptive text and visual examples of how the qualities were expressed across the various locations.
The work also includes method feedback on the use of the tool through SWOT analysis. The purpose of the study is partly to describe the two environments based on QET and to contribute through these descriptions with more examples of how the environmental qualities can be expressed. Another purpose is to gather method feedback on the tool. The selection of these two locations were chosen because they can be considered good examples of care buildings. The result contributes more visual descriptions of the expression of the environmental qualities and a landscape analysis in line with step 1 of the design process for QET over the two different locations. In addition to this, a contribution is the description of the author's experience of having used the tool as a method by highlighting strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats connected to the process.
