Abstract

Tre fall av alléodlingar har valts ut i denna fallstudie. På alléodlingarna utförs platsbeskrivning, intervjuer och observationer på platserna. Hur fungerar ett alléodlingssystem praktiskt under odlingsåret och vad har platserna för alléodlingsdesign?
Platsbeskrivningarna som beskrivs i materialet omfattar klimat på platsen, odlingszon, vegetationsperiod, latitud och nederbörd under året. Intervjusvaren presenteras i resultatet och intervjufrågorna ställs till de ansvariga för alléodlingarna. Respondenterna ombeds att besvara på frågor om perenna fruktträd och bärbuskar samt annuella grönsaker eller andra grödor som odlas i gränderna mellan alléerna. I resultatet presenteras observationer i form av foton och beskrivningar från de tre alléodlingarna. I diskussionen kartläggs arbetsmoment som utförs under odlingsåret i alléodlingssystemen. Pollineringsmöjligheter kartläggs på platserna och litteratur presenteras i diskussionen. I senare delen av diskussionen diskuteras samspelet mellan hortikulturella och agrikulturella grödor. Slutsatsen tar upp fallens olikheter och likheter i växtmaterial, design, odlingsåtgärder och arbetsfördelning. Vikten av odlingsåtgärder och odlingsplanering i alléodlingssystem som är beroende av kunskap inom odlingssystemen.

Three cases of alley cropping have been selected in this case study. The studies include location analysis, interviews, and observations of the cropping systems. How does an alley cropping system work practically during the growing season? What´s the alley cropping design at the three locations? The site descriptions are described in the material, which includes the climate at the locations, cultivation zone, vegetation period, latitude, and precipitation during the year. The interview questions are presented in the material and asked to those responsible for the alley cropping systems. The respondents are asked questions about perennial fruit trees, berry bushes as well as annual vegetables or other crops grown between the tree rows. The answers from the interview are presented in the results.
Cultivation measures are mapped in the discussion during the cultivation year. Pollination opportunities are mapped at the sites and literature is presented in the discussion. In the later part of the discussion, the basis from the case study I discussed, whether it is included in a future handbook about alley cropping systems.
