Abstract

Följande uppsats undersöker användningen av Nils Dacke och Dackefejden inom nutida socialt och politiskt arbete i delar av Småland. Uppsatsmaterialet består av semi-strukturerade intervjuer, observationer, och relevanta texter. Analysen visar att den nutida användningen av Dacke och Dackefejden kan delas in i tre roller utifrån materialet: Dacke som entreprenör, Dacke som samhällsbyggare, och Dacke som upprorsman. De här rollerna visar att Dacke används på olika sätt beroende på kontext och vem som använder honom. Slutsatsen är att Nils Dacke och Dackefejden fortfarande spelar en roll i nutida socialt och politiskt arbete i de områden som undersökts.

The following paper examines the current uses of Nils Dacke and the Dacke War within the context of social and political work in parts of Småland. The data underpinning the analysis consists of semi-strucutral interviews, observations, and relevant texts. The analysis shows that Dacke and the Dacke War can be divided into four current roles: Dacke as an entrepreneur, Dacke as a community builder, and Dacke as a rebel. These roles show that Dacke is used differently in different contexts and depending on who ‘uses’ him but that he still has a role to play in the current social and political work performed in the areas examined.
