Abstract

Studien undersöker vad kooperativa hyresrätter byggda i ideell regi på den svenska landsbygden innebär för sina hyresgäster och sitt lokalsamhälle. Forskningsintresset har kretsat kring frågan om hur vi kan bo och leva på den svenska landsbygden idag och imorgon, och grundar sig i den rådande bostadsbristen i svenska städer och landsbygder. Studien gjordes på ett fall, Hogslätts vänboende kooperativa hyresrättsförening, ett gemenskapsboende i norra Bohuslän som blev till genom en byggemenskap. Studiens syfte var att förstå vilken kontext vänboendet har växt fram ur samt vad vänboendet innebär för sina hyresgäster och lokalsamhälle. Eftersom rurala kooperativa hyresrätter är ett relativt nytt forskningsområde i Sverige gjordes en etnografisk fältstudie under sammanlagt elva dagar. Resultatet visar att Hogslätts vänboende befinner sig i en bygd med erfarenhet och resurser för att mobilisera sig lokalt för att täcka upp för gemensamma behov, orsakade av påverkansfaktorer utifrån. Den lokala handlingskraften var i sin tur en möjliggörande faktor för vänboendets uppkomst. Resultatet visar också att vänboendet innebär en möjlighet till gemenskapsskapande för sina hyresgäster genom dess fysiska och organisatoriska utformning, som sänker trösklarna för vardagligt umgänge. Den kooperativa boendeformen innebär dock inget tvång till socialt umgänge, vilket resultatet visar genom att somliga av de boende i huvudsak såg det som en praktisk bostadslösning för att kunna bo kvar i sitt sammanhang. Resultatet visar även att Hogslätts vänboende har bidragit till att skifta kommunens förståelsehorisont för vad som är möjligt att åstadkomma inom kommunen och i lokal regi, vilket i sin tur har banat vägen för nya kooperativa hyresrätter i kommunen. Utöver det har vänboendet även blivit en förebild nationellt. Resultatet visar slutligen att vänboendet bidragit till att ytterligare stabilisera det sociala samband som är bygden kring Bottna, samt stärkt lokalbornas känsla av att det är en plats där man vågar satsa.

The study examines what cooperative rental apartments built on a non-profit basis in the Swedish countryside means for their tenants and their local community. The research interest has revolved around the question of how we can live and work in the Swedish countryside today and tomorrow, and is based on the current housing shortage in Swedish cities and rural areas. The study was done on one case, Hogslätts vänboende kooperativa hyresrättsförening (Eng.: cooperative rental apartments association), a cohouse in northern Bohuslän that was created through a building community. The purpose of the study was to understand the context in which the cohouse has emerged from and what the cohouse means for its tenants and the local community. Since rural cooperative rental apartments are a relatively new research area in Sweden, an ethnographic field study was conducted for a total of eleven days. The results show that Hogslätts vänboende are located in a community with experience and resources to mobilize locally to cover communal needs, caused by external influencing factors. The local power of action was in turn an enabling factor for the emergence of the cohouse. The results also show that the cohouse provides an opportunity for social connections for its tenants through its physical and organizational design, which lowers the thresholds for everyday contact. However, the cooperative form of housing does not imply coercion to socialize, as the result shows by the fact that some of the residents mainly saw it as a practical housing solution to be able to stay in their context. Finally, the results also show that Hogslätts vänboende has contributed to shifting the municipality's horizon of understanding for what is possible to achieve within the municipality and on a local scale, which in turn has paved the way for new emerging cooperative rental apartments in the municipality. In addition, the cohouse has also set a positive example nationally. Finally, the results show that Hogslätts vänboende has contributed to further stabilizing the social connection that is the area around Bottna, and strengthened the locals' feeling that it is a place where they dare to invest.
