Abstract

Den här uppsatsen försöker fånga och beskriva vad som sker när landskapsarkitekten skissar på ett projekt i plan. Det för att få en djupare förståelse för skissprocessen, eftersom den är en central del i landskapsarkitektens designprocess, och ligger till grund i gestaltning av nya landskap.

I en litteraturstudie identifieras fyra aspekter i skissprocessen, vilka sedan används som utgångspunkter i en analys av tre skissfilmer. I analysen undersöks vad som sker när tre landskapsarkitekter skissar på projekt med penna och papper.

Det som sker när landskapsarkitekten skissar på ett projekt låter sig inte sammanfattas på ett självklart sätt. Det som går att fastställa är att det finns gemensamma drag som kan relateras till de mer generella beskrivningarna av skissprocessen, men att skissandet också uttrycker sig personligt beroende på vem som skissar och vilket projekt som är aktuellt. Gemensamt för landskapsarkitekternas skissande är att det visar sig som en sökande process som alstrar frågor och aktiverar tankemässiga rörelser mellan olika lägen. Några återkommande inslag som tycks vara av betydelse i skissarbetet är att röra sig mellan alternativa lösningar på förslag, pendla mellan motsatspar, göra perspektivbyten och växla mellan olika aspekter av relevans för projektet.

This essay attempts to capture and describe how the landscape architect sketches on projects in plan. This to gain a deeper understanding of the sketching process, as it is a central part of the landscape architects design work and the foundation for the creation of new landscapes.

Based on a literature study, four aspects of the sketching process are identified, which are then used as a foundation in an analysis of three films that show how the landscape architect sketch.

What happens when the landscape architect sketches on projects cannot be simply summarized. However, common features can be established between those who sketch and the general process. The sketching also expresses itself personally depending on the person who is sketching, and current project. It seems to be a searching process that raises questions and activates the movements of thoughts between different levels. Recurring elements that seem to be of importance in the landscape architect’s process are to try different solutions, shift between opposite pairs, change perspective, and switch between a variety of aspects that may affect the outcome of the project.
