Abstract

År 2020 införde Skånesemin ett nytt IT-system, TopCow. TopCow har inneburit stora förändringar för användarna vilket inkluderar både lantbrukarna och rådgivarna. Kravet på att viktig data från lantbruken ska rapporteras in kommer från flera håll i branschen. Exempelvis ska rapporter som rörhärstamning, provmjölkning och juverhälsa, rapporteras in till Växa Sverige för att sedan ligga till grund för bland annat avelsvärderingen. Genom TopCow skickas även uppgifter till CDB, som när
ett djur föds, avlider eller är tillfälligt ute/inne.
Arbetet är skrivet utifrån en lantbrukares/företagares perspektiv och utifrån deras input har arbetet
kommit fram till ett antal slutsatser och förslag på förbättringsåtgärder. Arbetet syftade till att svara på
ett antal frågeställningar där bland annat för- och nackdelar med TopCow skulle identifieras samt hur
systemet skulle kunna förbättras.
Det som framkommit via litteraturstudien, enkät- och intervjustudien är att denna typ av systemskifte
som skett kräver mer än bara ett bra IT-system. Det är viktigt att både användare och utvecklare av
ett IT-system för en dialog och att det finns en förståelse sinsemellan. Vid införandet av TopCow har
inte åsikterna från användarna hörsammats i tillräcklig stor omfattning. Ingen tydlig introduktion till
det nya IT-systemet har heller förelegat. Arbetet har kommit fram till några möjliga förslag för framtida förbättringar.

- Lyssna på användarna och ha med deras åsikter i utvecklingen.
- Ha en rutin för återkoppling på frågor från användarna, både rådgivare och lantbrukare.
- Åtgärdsplan för fel i viktiga data som identifierats och återkoppling måste ske löpande till supporten
alternativt till Vd:n för att säkerställa att problemen blir lösta.
- Rådgivarna måste vara mer samkörda. Det måste ställas högre krav på deras förmåga att tolka data
från TopCow. För att möjliggöra detta krävs att de får mer utbildning i systemet, detta för att bland
annat hänga med i utvecklingen i branschen.
- Den ekonomiska aspekten både för organisationen och företagarna måste bli mer motiverande och tydlig. Syftet med systemet måste vara tydlig för att det ska nyttjas fullt ut och fortsättas användas i framtiden. Förslagen visar att det krävs ett bättre samförstånd samt att rutiner behövs ses över och implementeras.

Slutsatsen visar att TopCow har storförbättringspotential men att en del användare redan idag är nöjda. Det finns användare idag som anser sig ha stor nytta av TopCow och vill gärna att systemet fortsätter att utvecklas för att bli heltäckande. Kommunikation mellan utvecklare och användarna av TopCow kommer framöver vara viktigt för att användarna ska känna sig hörda och att frustation från deras sida inte ska uppstå. Öka förståelsen med tydligare information och utbildning kan göra att användarna av TopCow kan nyttja sig av systemet i större utsträckning och även få en positivare inställning till systemet. När användaren förstår ett system och nyttjar det i större utsträckning kan det påverka den enskilde användaren positivt exempelvis ekonomiskt, genom tidsbesparing.

Skånesemin established 2020 a new IT-system for farmers, TopCow. TopCow has meant big changes for the users, which includes both the farmers and advisors. The demand on the farmers that important data is being reported, comes from several actors within the industry. For example, should
reports on pedigree, milk recording and udder health, to be reported to Växa Sverige since it among other things is used for the genetic evaluation. By TopCow, required information is also send to the central database for cattle (CDB), including when an animal is born, deceased or temporary in or out of the farm.
This essay has the ambition to capture the farmers/business point of view and from their input this
essay has come to some conclusions and suggestions of improvement measures. The aim of the essay
was to answer a few issues and to identify the advantages or disadvantages with TopCow, and how
the system could be improved.
From the literature study, survey- and interview study is that this type of introduction of a new
system, requires more than just a good IT-system. It is important that both users and developers of
an IT-system has a dialogue and that there is an understanding between each other. At the establishment of TopCow, the opinions from the users not been considered enough. No education directed to farmers and advisors on the new IT-system has existed either.
The investigation suggests some future improvements.
- Listen to the users and consider their opinions in the progress.
- Have a routine for feedback on questions from the users.
- Action plan for error in the important data, that is identified, and feedback must be ongoing to the
support alternative to the responsible for the IT-system to make sure that the problems are being solved.
- Advisors must be more united. There must be higher expectations on their ability to read the data
from TopCow. To make this possible they must be given more education in the system, this because
being able to keep up with the progress within the industry.
- The economic side for both the organization and businesses must be more motivated and clearer
stated. The purpose with the system must be clear so it can be used fully and continue to be used in
the future.

Suggestions show that it needs a better understanding and routines need to be looked at and
implemented.

The conclusion is that TopCow has potential for improvement, but that some users are already
satisfied today. There are users today, who consider TopCow useful and like the system to continue
progressing, so it becomes comprehensive. Communication between developers and users of TopCow will be important in the future to ensure that the users can feel like they are being listen to and frustration from there side will not arise. Increase understanding with clearer information and education can do that the users of TopCow can use the system in a bigger extent and even get a more positive attitude for the system. When the user understands a system and use it to a bigger extent, it can affect the single user positively, for example, economically and by saving time.
