Abstract

Denna studie undersöker den upplevda bekymmersamheten och oron människor uttrycker när de är med om en samhällsomvandling. I Gällivare kommun pågår en samhällsomvandling på grund av ett hål i marken som uppstod efter många år av gruvindustri vid Malmberget. Gropen som kallas för Kaptensgropen har vuxit sig större med åren och är idag en fara för de som bor i området eftersom den växer. Kaptensgropen delar Malmberget i två delar och har resulterat i att LKAB tvingats evakuera större delen av orten fram till år 2032. Omvandlingen i Malmberget har pågått sedan 1950-talet men fick ett avtal 2012 som kommunen skrev under tillsammans med gruvbolaget för avveckling- och utvecklingsprocessen. Processerna som definieras i avtalet ska konkretisera de involverades uppgifter och krav för att underlätta förflyttningen av alla människor. Att bo och leva i Malmberget under en pågående evakuering som sträcker sig över många år är en unik bostadssituation. Många uttrycker oro i att bo vid sin barndomsort och se hur den rivs med åren. Samtidigt vet sällan människor hur den nya bostadssituationen ser ut efter deras personliga evakuering. Alla som bor i Malmberget idag kommer att förhandla med LKAB om sin bostad för att komma fram till en ny bostadsform. En stor del av Malmbergets lokalinvånare har redan placerats i nya bostäder av olika former fördelat runtom Gällivare. Bostadssituationen är unik eftersom bara Kiruna kommun, som också genomgår en omvandlingsprocess, till viss del kan jämföras med Malmberget.

This study examines the perceived worry and concern people express during a social transformation. In Gällivare municipality, there is an ongoing social transformation that is, caused by a pit hole that arose after many years of mining. The pit hole, called the Kaptensgropen (Captain’s Pit), has grown larger over the years and is today a danger to those living in the area as it grows. Today Kaptensgropen divides the town into two parts and has resulted in LKAB being forced to evacuate most of the town before 2032. The transformation in Malmberget has been going on since the 1950's but obtained an agreement in 2012 which the municipality signed together with the mining company for decommissioning and development of the transformation process. The processes defined in the agreement shall specify the tasks and requirements of the parties involved to facilitate the moving of all people. Living in Malmberget during an ongoing evacuation that extend over many years is a unique housing situation. Many express their concern with living in their childhood town and seeing how it is gradually torn down. At the same time, people rarely know what their personal new housing situation looks like after their own personal evacuation. Everyone who lives in Malmberget today will negotiate with LKAB about their housing to disembark on a new type of housing. A large part of Malmberget's residents have already been placed in new housing in various forms distributed around Gällivare city. The housing situation is unique because only Kiruna municipality, which also undergoes a similar transformation process, can to a certain extent be compared to it.
