Abstract

Visst vore det intressant att titta lite mer på hur vargdebatten utformas, specifikt mellan huvudsakligen tre olika aktörer i Västmanlands län? Det har varit ingången för kandidatuppsatsen som försökt dyka djupare in i många berättelser om djuret. Det har skett genom att intervjua flera aktörer inom naturskyddsintresset och jägarintresset samt att söka efter information online via rapporter, hemsidor eller mail som till exempel den tredje aktören, Länsstyrelsen. Dessutom har det funnits ett fjärde perspektiv som ständigt påminns om vargens närvaro i Sverige och det är tamdjursägarna. Genom att gå igenom hur de olika aktörerna resonerar och argumenterar om vargen kan man utläsa huvudargument. Dessa har blivit underlag för en diskursanalys som har utförts med fokus på nyckelord och hur diskurserna målar en bild av vargen. Som avslut diskuteras hur dessa diskurser relaterar till en diskursordning och hur det är uttryck för sociala positioner i samhället vilket kan kopplas till makt och dagens samhällsutveckling.

Wouldn’t it be fascinating to have a closer look at how the wolf debate is shaped, specifically between three main actors in Västmanland county? That has been the starting point for this bachelor thesis which has wanted to dig deeper into the many stories about the animal. The actors that have taken part in this thesis are representatives of the “nature interest”, the hunters and the County Administrative Board. The farmers have also been added for a further depth into the debate. The method for this study has been to interview several actors from different sides in the debate. There have been extensive searches online through reports, articles, webpages and e-mails. By reviewing the material containing the reasoning for all the actors you can assess how they build their main arguments. These have become the basis for a discourse analysis which has been conducted with the focus on keywords and how the discourses have portrayed the wolf. To finish the thesis there’s a discussion in which the relation between the discourses and the discourse order is reviewed and how it becomes an expression for social positions which can be connected with power and the development of today’s society.
