Abstract

Samspel mellan människor är viktigt. Det är också samspelet mellan människa och natur.
Ett samspel mellan människor förutsätter möten. När möten sker innebär det kopplingar mellan individer
som gör att vi känner gemenskap och litar på varandra. Det är grunden till ett socialt hållbart samhälle
som innehåller tolerans, tillit och förtroende mellan människor. Ett samhälle där människors lika värde
står i centrum. Därför är det angeläget att som landskapsarkitekt arbeta för att möten uppstår, oavsett
skala eller sammanhang. Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är att gestalta en plats som främjar möten
genom aktiviteter. Gestaltningen appliceras på en tomt med hus på Torö i Södermanland och grundar sig
på teorin ”The Power of 10”. Den innebär att om människor har tio eller fler anledningar att vara på en
plats kommer den att bli mycket uppskattad och använd. Genom gestaltning ska tomten bli en mötesplats
för familj, vänner och vänners vänner där aktiviteter uppmuntrar till möten, lekfullhet och gemenskap.
Kontakt med beställaren och sakkunniga, en förstudie i litteratur, inventering och analys ligger till grund
för formuleringen av programpunkter, koncept och gestaltningsförslag. Gestaltningen presenteras med
en illustrationsplan över tomten, två sektioner på husets sidor, detaljbilder på aktiviteternas utformning,
illustrationer på växtgestaltning samt fyra perspektivbilder på tomten och dess användning. Förslaget
består av två trädäck, redskap som uppmuntrar till aktivitet och växtgestaltning som inspirerats av omgivande
vegetation. Med dessa tillägg väver förslaget samman tomtens komponenter till en funktionell och
estetisk helhet. Förslaget skapar även mötes- och samlingsplatser genom aktiviteter samt visuellt förenar
byggda element med naturen. Resultatet i detta kandidatarbete ska ses som ett förslag på hur man genom
åtgärder kan skapa en plats för aktivitet i en naturlig miljö. Det är också ett exempel på hur en plats kan
gestaltas för givande möten och samspel mellan människa – människa, människa – natur.

Interaction between people is important. So is also the interaction between man and nature.
Interaction between people requires meetings. When meetings take place, it leads to connections between
individuals which make us feel fellowship and trust in each other. This is the foundation of a socially
sustainable society containing tolerance, trust and reliance between people. A society in which people’s
equal value is at the core. Therefore, as a landscape architect, it is important to create opportunities for
meetings, regardless of scale or context. The purpose of this Bachelor´s thesis is to design a place that
promotes meetings through activities. The design is applied to a site on Torö in Södermanland, based on
the theory of ”The Power of 10”. This means that if people have ten or more reasons to be in one place,
it will be highly appreciated and used. Through the design, the site will be a meeting place for family,
friends and their friends where activities encourage meetings, playfulness and community.
Contact with the client and experts, a literary preliminary study, site inventory as well as analysis form
the basis for the formulation of program points, the concept and the design proposal. The design is presented
with an illustrated plan of the site, two sections of the north and the south side of the house and the
deck, details of the layout of the activities, illustrations of the planting design and four perspectives of the
site and its use. The design consists of two wooden decks, objects that encourages activity and planting
that is inspired by the surrounding vegetation. With these additions, the design connects the components
of the site into a functional and aesthetic whole. The proposal also creates meetings and gatherings
through activities as well as visually joining built-up elements with nature. The result of this Bachelor´s
thesis can be seen as a suggestion of how to create a place for activities in a natural environment. It is
also an example of how a place can be designed for rewarding meetings and interactions between human
– human, human – nature.
