Abstract

Syftet med detta arbete är att studera hur SQM Pork kan bedriva en mer affärsmässig leverantörsrelation med utgångspunkt i nuvarande leveranskontrakt och därigenom nå bättre koordinering av svinleveranserna mellan slakteri och leverantör. Därmed ges en bild av huruvida nuvarande leveranskontrakt kan utvecklas för att nå ökad affärsmässighet.

För att uppnå syftet har genomförts en enkätundersökning, som besvarats av sjutton svinleverantörer, vilka valt att inte skriva under det nya leveranskontraktet. Frågeställningarna i enkäten består av fyra delar. Den första avser företagets bakgrund, den andra och tredje delen berör leveranskontraktet och den sista delen är påståenden kopplade till affärsrelationen med SQM Pork.

Enkätundersökningen visar att olika grupper av leverantörer har olika behov och att vissa kontraktsvariabler förefaller vara mer intressanta inom somliga grupper.

Slutsatserna av studien är att värderingsskillnaderna mellan SQM Pork och leverantörerna skulle minska om det fanns större differentiering av leverantörerna, ökad kommunikation mellan SQM Pork och leverantörerna samt en utveckling av nuvarande prissättningssätt. En förändring inom dessa områden torde öka affärsmässigheten och koordineringen. Därmed borde också föreningens konkurrenskraft och effektivitet kunna stärkas.

The purpose of this thesis has been to investigate how SQM Pork could achieve a
more market orientated relationship with their suppliers, based on the present
contracts of delivery, and thereby reach an increased co-ordination between the
slaughter-house and the supplier. The purpose was also to give a picture of whether
the present contracts could be developed and changed in order to reach a higher level
of market orientation.
A questionnaire was constructed and the questions were answered by seventeen porksuppliers
who had actively decided not to sign the new contract of delivery, effective
from the 1st of January 2001. The questions in the survey were divided up into four
parts. The first part dealt with background information needed about the supplier’s
company, the second and third part of the questionnaire were about the delivery
contract and the last part was linked to the supplier’s business relationship with SQM
Pork.
The survey has plainly shown that different groups of suppliers have different needs
and some of the variables of the contract seem to be more interesting to certain
groups.
The final analysis of the results from the survey indicates that an increased
differentiation of the suppliers, a better communication between SQM Pork and the
supplier and a development of current system of pricing would reduce the differences
in values and opinions between SQM Pork and the supplier. A change in these areas
should increase the level of market orientation and co-ordination too. Thereby the
competitiveness and efficiency of the co-operative company ought to be strengthened as well, both in the short run and in the long run.
