Abstract

I denna studie har Täby kommuns hållbara stadsbyggnadsprojekt i västra Roslags-Näsby
undersökts. Detta för att se hur de olika hållbarhetsdimensionerna integrerats i arbetet samt
att se hur ett mer effektivt hållbarhetsarbete inom projektet kan bedrivas. En kvalitativ
undersökningsmetod har använts i denna studie. Empirin samlades in genom två
semistrukturerade intervjuer med projektets hållbarhetssamordnare och kommunikatör, samt
en mailintervju med projektets projektledare. Teorin samlades in via en narrativ
litteraturgenomgång, då denna metod inte fokuserar på ett specifikt område kan mer
information inom ämnet tas fram.

Det teoretiska ramverket som ligger till grund för studien har utgått från teorier och modeller
om kommunikation, projekt och hållbarhet. Genom att studera dessa områden har
möjligheten till en djupare förståelse av hållbar projektledning ökat. Forskare inom området
anser att ett mer effektivt projektarbete kan genomföras med stöd av hållbar projektledning.
Det finns dock inget generellt ramverk som beskriver hur projektledaren aktivt ska kunna
arbeta mot en hållbar utveckling.

Studien visar hur stadsbyggnadsprojektet västra Roslags-Näsby skulle kunna bli mer effektivt
om de arbetade med en hållbar projektledning. Genom att slå samman projektledarens roll
med hållbarhetssamordnarens skulle projektets hållbarhetsarbete bli mer effektivt. Då
hållbarhetsarbetet är en så pass stor och viktig del i projektet bör inte ansvaret angående
hållbarhet delegeras ner till en samordnare med lägre auktoritet än projektledaren.

Studiens omfång och tidsperspektiv kan ha påverkat den insamlade empirin, vilket är något
som bör beaktas i framtida forskning. Det är emellertid inget som påverkar studiens
trovärdighet. Avslutningsvis kan det fastställas att hållbar projektledning är ett ungt
forskningsområde men att det växer allt mer. Detta på grund av att arbetet mot en hållbar
utveckling blir allt viktigare och att fler företag vill ta sitt ansvar.

This essay studies the urban development project in västra Roslags-Näsby, Täby, and how the
different sustainable dimensions have been integrated in the project. Further has the essay
studied how a more efficient sustainable work within the project kan be undertaken. The
theories and models the study is based on are communication theories, project models and
sustainable development theory. By studying the different theories and models a deeper
understanding of a sustainable project management was given. Researchers within the project
management area believes that the efficiency of the projects work towards sustainable
development can increase by working with sustainable project management.

This study has been able to identify that the urban development project in västra Roslags-
Näsby could become more efficient if they started to work with sustainable project
management. By incorporating the environmental coordinator's tasks with the project
manager’s tasks they would become more efficient in their work.

The scope and the time perspective of the study may have influenced the collected data,
which should be considered in future research. However, that is nothing that affects the
credibility of the study. In conclusion, it can be established that sustainable project
management is a young research area, although the area is growing. This is because the
importance of sustainable development is increasing and more companies want to take their
responsibility.
