Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine what the Swedish forestry can do to attract more students to the upper secondary school with forestry as the main subject.
There is an upcoming lack of forest machine operators. To face up to this future need the Swedish forestry has to lay more resource to figure out how they can reach out to the bigger mass.
The method used for the study has been a questionnaire; both as a paper questionnaire send out to students on upper secondary schools and true telephone interviews with forest machine operators. The result from this study shows that the Swedish forestry need to put more effort on commercials and events so they can reach out to the public who don’t have any previous connections with the forestry.
