Abstract

Hundrasen Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever (tollare) är överrepresenterad för autoimmun sjukdom med SLE-liknande inslag, immunmedierad reumatisk sjukdom (IMRD). Hos såväl människa som hund har kopplingar påvisats mellan autoimmuna sjukdomar och olika gener som kodar för MHC klass II. I en tidigare studie över tollare med IMRD sågs stark koppling till MHC klass II. I den här studien har vi tittat närmare på hundar med IMRD som är positiva för antinukleära antikroppar (ANA) och studerat eventuella kopplingar mellan immunofluorescens mönster och MHC klass II-generna. Hundarna har delats in i undergrupper utifrån om de haft ett kornigt eller homogent mönster vid positivt ANA. Vi har funnit att det finns ett starkt samband mellan en specifik genotyp för MHC klass II och hundar med kornigt ANA-mönster och generell homozygoti för hundar med homogent ANA-mönster.

The canine breed Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever (NSDTR) is predisposed to SLE-like autoimmune disease, immune-mediated rheumatic disease (IMRD). In both man and dog a correlation between autoimmune disease and different MHC class II alleles has been found. An earlier study of NSDTRs with immune-mediated rheumatic disease (IMRD) showed a strong correlation to MHC class II. In this study we further investigate NSDTRs with IMRD who are positive for antinuclear antibodies (ANA). The dogs were grouped according to the immunofluorescence pattern and divided into groups with speckled and homogenous ANA-pattern to see if any group are more associated to MHC class II or not. We found a strong correlation between a specific MHC class II-genotype and a speckled ANA-pattern. Dogs with homogenous ANA-pattern tend to have a higher frequency of homozygous individuals.
