Abstract

I detta examensarbete har jag utgått från teorier om klimat och
människa och den energi som jag tror finns i gränssnittet mellan
mänskliga aktiviteter och naturliga processer.
Jag har utgått från att både mänskliga aktiviteter och naturliga
cykler påverkar klimatet och att det är den sammanlagda
påverkan som utgör resultatet.
Jag har gått vidare från denna teori till att arbeta med utformningen
av en plats, för att undersöka om man kan påvisa detta
genom landskapsarkitektur. - Om landskapet kan utgöra en
plattform för en fråga som berör natur, men som vanligtvis skildras
i helt andra kontexter och i ett hav av svårläslig information.
Jag har strävat efter att lyfta/skildra klimatet och dess föränderlighet
som ett intresse - inte som ett hot.
Jag har med hjälp av referensstudier reflekterat över vad jag
tycker om på olika platser och låtit mig inspireras inför kommande
gestaltningsutmaning.
Jag har arbetat med en plats i en urban kontext för att den skall
vara tillgänglig för fler än de som vanligtvis intresserar sig för
natur eller miljöfrågor.
Målet är att parkgestaltningen som verktyg kan verka som en
strategi för att angripa utmaningen att lyfta både mänsklig och
naturlig påverkan i klimatet.
Platsen jag arbetat med är belägen på Möllevången i Malmö
och har de kvaliteter i form av skala och läge, som jag ansett
vara nödvändiga för mitt projekt. Jag valde även platsen för att
jag tror att en parkgestaltning i detta område som har stor brist
på grönytor, kan svara till fler intressen än de som jag själv har
utvecklat genom detta arbete.
Det konceptuella programmeringsförslaget blev konturerna av
ett skånskt åkerlandskap, utrullat på platsen. Ett nät av lappar
att fylla med olika aktiviteter beroende på brukarnas önskemål.
En av lapparna lyfts upp och fungerar som en ‘reagerande
väder- och rörelse-indikator’, en plats vars mikroklimat påverkas
av förändring i påverkan från både människa och natur

In this thesis I have started from reflecting around theories
about climate and man and the energy that I believe one can
find in the interface between human activities and natural processes.
I have assumed that both human activities and natural cycles
affect the climate and that the sum of impacts constitutes the
resulting effect.
With this backgroud I have moved on to working on drawing
a proposal for a site, this to investigate whether one can accentuate
what happens in this interface between climate and
man, - within the field of landscape architecture. Further; if the
landscape may serve as a platform for an issue that concerns
nature, but usually is described within other contexts and in an
ocean of information, hard to read.
I have aimed for raising the dynamics of climate as an interest
- not as a threaten.
I have studied references to find out what I like about different
sites or experiences that moves me. This to identify interests
for inspiration to bring with me to the upcoming design challenge.
I have used a site for my study, situated within the urban core,
since I wanted the result to be accessible for more people than
the ones that are usually interested in nature or environmental
issues.
The aim is that the park design, may work as a strategic tool to
raise both human and natural impacts on the climate.
The site I have worked on is situated in the city district Möllevången,
in Malmö. The neighbourhood has the qualities that I
was looking for in terms of site and scale. I also chose the site
because of the belief that a parkdesign in this area with its lack
of green structures, may serve for more interests then the ones
I have developed within this study.
The conceptual proposition that I landed on for the site emerged
as; contours of a typical Scanian landscape of fields, rolled out
over the site. A patchwork to be filled with different activities,
depending on the users needs. One of the patches will be lifted
up and work as a ‘responsive weather and movement indicator’.
A site in which the micro climate will be affected by the
change of impact from both man and nature.
