Abstract

Denna uppsats undersöker på vilka sätt akvarellskisser utförda i fält kan användas för att förstå platser. Arbetet
byggs upp av en fältstudie som genomförts på olika platser i ett område i Lomma, där skisser i akvarell och en
loggbok framställts. En metod för att systematisera och kommunicera vad de färdiga skisserna förmedlar har
tagits fram i form av analyserande aspekter. Aspekterna berör huvudsakligen ett visuellt analyserande av
landskap. En viktig inspirationskälla och utgångspunkt för arbetet har varit examensarbetet, Skissa med
akvarellen – En metod för platskännedom (Propst 2017).
Litteratur kring landskap, akvarell, fältstudier och skissens betydelse samt roll för landskapsarkitekten behandlas
genom arbetet och ger stöd till diskussionen. Varje skiss från platsbesöken presenteras ihop med deras
respektive del av loggboken samt vilka analyserande aspekter var skiss förmedlar.
Arbetet landar i en diskussion om lärdomar författaren har fått genom skissarbetet med akvarell. Akvarellskissen
lyckas förmedla det estetiska uttrycket av platserna liksom dess levande kvaliteter. Genom det levande fångas
även platsens själ. Uppsatsen bygger på författarens egna erfarenheter och reflektioner, och syftar till att bidra
med ett personligt perspektiv inom ämnesområdet i fråga.

This essay aims to investigate in what ways watercolour field sketches can be used for an understanding of
places. The essay undertakes fieldwork which was carried out at various locations in an area in Lomma, where
watercolour sketches and a field journal was produced. A method was developed in the shape of analysing
aspects in order to systematize and communicate what the finalized sketches conveyed. The analysing aspects
mainly concern a visual analysing of landscapes. An important source of inspiration and starting point of this
study has been the thesis, Skissa med akvarellen – En metod för platskännedom (Propst 2017).
Literature about landscape, watercolour, field studies and the importance and role of the sketch for the landscape
architect makes up a part of this study. It also provides support for the discussion. Each sketch from the
fieldwork is presented together with their corresponding part of the field journal as well as which of the
analysing aspects each sketch conveys.
The essay is concluded in a discussion about lessons the author has learned through sketching with watercolour.
Sketching in watercolour succeeds in conveying the aesthetic expression of the places as well as their alive
qualities. The place's soul is captured through these alive qualities. The essay is based on the author's own
experiences and reflections, and aims to contribute with a personal perspective on the subject in question.
