Abstract

I den här uppsatsen undersöks dagvattenhanteringens plats på kvartersmark, exemplifierat med en regnbädd på en bostadsgård. En ca. 1000 m2 stor sluten bostadsgård med en ca. 80 m2 stor regnbädd utgör studieobjekt. Genom en fallstudie i form av observationer på plats och semistrukturerade intervjuer med boende utvärderas bostadsgården generellt och regnbädden specifikt. Kristenssons (2003) teori om bostadsgårdens olika roller används som teoretisk bakgrund mot vilken bostadsgården bedöms. Teorin framställer bostadsgårdens olika funktioner som olika roller, nämligen bostadsnära uterum, lekmiljö, mötesplats, och utsikt. Förutom fallstudien genomförs en mindre litteraturstudie som fokuserar på bakomliggande faktorer vid acceptans av klimatanpassningar.
Av studien framkommer att samtliga av Kristenssons (2003) roller tycks ha möjlighet att uppfyllas på en bostadsgård med en regnbädd. De intervjuade boende tycker om sin bostadsgård men majoriteten av dem tycker inte om regnbädden. I princip ingen av de tillfrågade vet vad regnbädden har för syfte och därför föreslås att framtida insatser fokuserar på att öka förståelsen för detta. Insatserna bör vara riktade mot att uppmärksamma de boende på varför regnbäddens syfte är viktigt. Detta då resultatet av litteraturstudien gör gällande att förståelse för syftet kombinerat med förståelse för varför syftet är viktigt är betydelsefullt för acceptansen av klimatanpassningar. I det här arbetet föreslås att de boende ska informeras om regnbäddens syfte och uppmuntras att själva utforska den.

In this paper stormwater management and its place in neighbourhood blocks is examined, exemplified by a rain garden at a residential farm. A ca. 1000 m2 big closed residential farm with a ca. 80 m2 big rain garden is the study object. A case study consisting of observations on site and semi structured interviews with residents is carried out to assess the residential farm in general and the rain garden specifically. Kristenssons (2003) theory about a residential farms different roles is used as the theoretical lens through which the residential farm is examined. The theory describes a residential farms different functions as different roles, namely: “the yard as open space close to the house and the home; the yard as a meeting place or social forum; the yard as a place for children’s play; and the yard as a place to get aesthetic experiences and contact with nature” (Kristensson 2003:473). Apart from the case study a smaller literature study that focus on the factors behind acceptance of climate adaptions is carried out.
The study reveals that every one of Kristenssons (2003) roles seems to be able to be realized at a residential farm with a rain garden. The interviewed residents like their residential farm but the majority of them do not like the rain garden. Almost none of the interviewees knows about the purpose of the rain garden and therefore it is proposed that future work focus on increasing the awareness of this. The work should focus on informing the residents why the purpose of the rain garden is important. This is because the literature review in this study reveals that knowledge about the purpose combined with an evaluation of the purpose as important is crucial for acceptance of climate adaptations. In this work it is suggested that the residents are informed about the purpose of the rain garden and encouraged to explore it themselves.
