Abstract
Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka hur uppkomsten hos
lantbruksgrödor påverkas av biokol inblandat i jorden. I den experimentella delen av examensarbetet
blandades 10 volymprocent biokol av två sorter in i jorden - bioagro-biokol och slambiokol. För
att utvärdera om det skiljer sig mellan tillvägagångssätt vid myllning valdes ett
behandlingsled med djup inblandning i hela profilen och ett med grund inblandning i ytan. Tre
lantbruksgrödor ur olika växtfamiljer var med i experimentet – vårkorn, sockerbetor och höstraps.
För att mäta groningen räknades antal plantor i sju dagar. Motivet till arbetet är att
biokolets egenskaper, såsom högt pH och hög konduktivitet, har i andra
sammanhang visat sig kunna påverka groning negativt.
Resultatet från experimentet visade att det inte fanns några signifikanta skillnader i groningen
hos vårkorn, men det påskyndade groningen signifikant hos sockerbetor och höstraps med en dag.
Flest antal uppkomna plantor dag ett för sockerbetor gav båda typer av biokol som var grunt myllad
i ytan och för höstraps gav bioagro- biokol som var grunt myllad i ytan flest uppkomna plantor.
Endast en tendens till liknande resultat observerades hos vårkornet.
The aim of this thesis was to investigate how the emergence of agricultural crops is
affected by the incorporation of biochar into the soil. In the experimental part of the thesis, 10
volume percent of two types of biochar, bioagro biochar and sewage biochar were mixed
into the soil. To evaluate whether there are differences in approaches to incorporation, a
treatment involving deep incorporation throughout the profile and a shallow incorporation on
the surface were chosen. Three agricultural crops from different plant families were included
in the experiment – spring barley, sugar beets and winter canola. Germination was assessed by
counting the number of seedlings over seven days. The motive for the study is that
the properties of biochar, such as high pH and high conductivity, have been shown in other contexts
to impact germination potentially negatively.
The results from the experiment showed that there were no significant differences in the
germination of spring barley, but germination was significantly accelerated for sugar beets and
winter rape by one day. The highest number of emerged sugar beet plants on day one was
observed with both types of biochar shallowly incorporated into the soil surface, and
for winter rape, the highest number of emerged plants was observed with the shallow
incorporation of bioagro biochar. Only a tendency towards similar results was observed in the
spring barley.
