Abstract

Den finansiella instabilitet som skapats till följd av pandemi och inflation har genererat negativa konsekvenser för organisationer, och har resulterat en markant ökning i konkurser under början av år 2024. Tidigare studier visar på en ökad sårbarhet hos mindre organisationer vid finansiell instabilitet, där mindre organisationer drabbas negativt i större utsträckning i förhållande till större organisationer. Organisationer utgör en betydande roll för samhällsutveckling och bidrar till människors ekonomiska hälsa. Av den anledningen är det av betydelse att utveckla förståelse för vad som bidrar till att en del mindre organisationer klarar av samt anammar förändring och hur de anpassar sig under förändrade förutsättning.
Studien avser att undersöka hur mindre organisationer utvecklar resiliens vid förändrade förutsättningar. Detta genom att studera hur organisationer anpassar och hanterar förändring. Undersökningen inriktas även mot organisationers resurser, där studien avser att undersöka huruvida en organisations interna resurser har en inverkan till dess resiliens. För studien har en kvalitativ forskningsmetod tillämpats, där en semistrukturerad intervju genomförts hos den tillverkande organisationen Bikupan för insamling av empiri. Organisationens verkställande direktör har intervjuats, där materialet sedan kodats om till olika teman.
Studiens insamlade empiri visar på egenskaper och strategier som bidragande och av betydelse för organisationen resiliens vid förändrade förutsättningar. Empirin visar även organisationens resurser som bidragande till dess resiliens, men att det främst är resursernas egenskaper som är avgörande. Organisationen visar på förmåga till hantering och anpassning genom effektiv resursanvändning, vilket bidrar till organisationens resiliens. Avslutningsvis föreslås flerfallsstudie inom området till framtida forskning.

The financial instability that has been created as a result of the pandemic and inflation has created negative consequences for organizations, and has resulted in a striking increase in bankruptcies during the beginning of 2024. Previous studies show an increased vulnerability in smaller organizations during financial instability, where smaller organizations are negatively affected to a greater extent in relation to larger organizations. Organizations play an important role for the community development and contribute to citizen's economic health. Therefore, it is of importance to establish an understanding of what contributes to some smaller organizations to survive and embrace change, and how they adapt during changing conditions.
The study aims to investigate how smaller organizations develop resilience during changing contitions. This by studying how organizations adapt and manage change. The investigation also focuses on resources, where the study aims to investigate whether an organization's resources have an impact on its resilience. For this study, a qualitative method has been applied, where a semi-structured interview was performed at the producing organization Bikupan to collect empirical material. The organization's CEO have been interviewed, where the collected material has been coded into different themes.
The collected empirical material for this study shows qualities and strategies that contribute to and are important for the organization's resilience in the event of changed conditions. The empirical material also shows that the organization's resources contribute to its resilience, but it is primarily the characteristics of the resources that are crucial. The organization shows an ability to manage and adapt through efficient use of resources, which contributes to the organization's resilience. In conclusion, a multiple case study in this field is proposed for future research.
