Abstract

Den här studien fokuserar på kommunikationskonflikter mellan livsmedelsinspektörer och verksamhetsutövare inom livsmedelstillsyn. Det påpekas att kommunikationen är avgörande för att säkerställa livsmedelssäkerheten och efterlevnaden av regler och lagar. Trots detta kan konflikter uppstå, vilket kan påverka samarbetet och effektiviteten i inspektionsprocessen.

Syftet med den här studien är att öka förståelsen av kommunikationskonflikter som livsmedelsinspektörer möter under inspektionen och hur de ska hanteras. Samt diskutera samtalstekniker som inspektören använder under inspektionssamtal för att förbättra kommunikationen.

I denna studie används en kombination av olika metoder för att samla data och öka validiteten i de slutsatser som dras. Dessa metoder var litteratursökning, kvalitativa intervju och deltagande observation. En anställd livsmedelsinspektör med lång erfarenhet var intervjuad, samt fyra verksamhetsutövare har blivit utvalda som studiefall och har observerats under inspektionssamtal. Samtidigt har en litteratursökning genomförts om kommunikation och konflikthantering i allmänhet och specifikt inom livsmedelstillsyn.

Slutligen visar studien på de vanligaste kommunikationskonflikterna som livsmedelsinspektören möter under sina inspektionssamtal, och trots att inspektörerna tillämpar samtalstekniker som beskrivs i teorin, är det tydligt att praktiken kan skilja sig från teorin och kräver flexibilitet och erfarenhet för effektiv hantering av konflikter.

För framtiden föreslås att Livsmedelsverket implementerar en specifik och praktisk utbildning i kommunikation och konflikthantering för nya och befintliga livsmedelsinspektörer för att säkerställa att de har nödvändiga färdigheter för att hantera kommunikationskonflikter på ett effektivt sätt.

Denna studie betonar vikten av kontinuerlig utveckling och förbättring av kommunikationsfärdigheter- och kompetenser för livsmedelsinspektörer för att säkerställa effektiv inspektion och främja livsmedelssäkerheten.

This study focuses on communication conflicts between food inspectors and food operators within food supervision. It is pointed out that communication is crucial to ensure food safety and compliance with regulations and laws. Despite this, conflicts can arise, which can affect cooperation and the effectiveness of the inspection process.

The purpose of this study is to increase understanding of the communication conflicts that food inspectors encounter during inspections and how they should be handled. It also aims to discuss the conversation techniques used by inspectors during inspection conversations to improve communication.

In this study, a combination of different methods is used to collect data and increase the validity of the conclusions drawn. These methods include literature review, qualitative interviews, participant observation. A employed food inspector with extensive experience was interviewed, and four food operators were selected as case studies and observed during inspection conversations. Concurrently, a literature search was conducted on communication and conflict management in general and specifically within food supervision.

Finally, the study highlights the most common communication conflicts that food inspectors encounter during their inspection conversations. Despite applying conversation techniques described in theory, it is evident that practice can differ from theory and requires flexibility and experience for effective conflict management.

For the future, it is suggested that the Food Agency implement a practical, specific training in communication and conflict management for new and existing food inspectors to ensure they have the necessary skills to handle communication conflicts effectively.

This study emphasizes the importance of continuous development and improvement of communication skills and competencies for food inspectors to ensure effective inspection and promote food safety.
