Abstract

Hampa i svensk kontext är en intressant gröda ur ett flertal perspektiv. Hampans mångfacetterade fysiologi erbjuder ett brett spektrum av tillgångar för såväl producent som för konsument. Men med fördelarna kommer även en rad signifikanta hinder för aktörer inom hampa industrin. Industrihampans nära släktskap med den kontroversiella draghampan har lett till införande av ett nationellt förbud från mitten av 1900-talet fram till tidigt 2000-tal. Hampans egenskaper har skattats högt av det svenska samhället i århundraden. Förbudet till synes raderade grödan ur det kollektiva svenska medvetandet medan rivaliserande industri pågick sin evolution oförhindrat. Sedan hampans återinträde i det svenska samhället har hampaodlare, forskare och produktutvecklare agerat pionjärer i ej ännu kartlagda områden. Hampans närvaro har gett upphov till debatt i både regering och media kring hur skörd, förädling och försäljning av hampa bör ske. Allt detta försätter i nuläget hampan och aktörerna inom hampaindustrin i ett diffust läge. Detta arbete ämnar att identifiera de variabler som genererar detta läge. I detta arbete genomförs kartläggning av den svenska situationen för hampa och förslag formuleras kring hur aktörer inom den svenska hampaindustrin och det svenska samhället bör agera under de kommande åren.

Hemp in a Swedish context is an interesting crop from several perspectives. The many physiological attributes of hemp offers a wide spectrum of resources to both producers, as well as consumers. But with the upsides comes a number of significant obstacles for actors within the hemp industry. lndustrial hemp's close relationship with the controversial drug hemp has led to the introduction of a nationwide ban from the middle of the 1900s until early 2000s. The properties of hemp has been highly praised by the Swedish society for centuries. The ban seemingly erased the crop from the collective Swedish mind while rivalling industry continued its evolution unhindered. Since hemp's comeback inta Swedish society, hemp farmers, scientists and developers have acted as pioneers in undiscovered areas. The presence of hemp has been the catalyst of debate in both media and government concerning how harvest, processing and sale of hemp should be done. All of this currently puts hemp and the actors within the hemp industry in an unclear position which makes it difficult to assess the future. This report aims to identify the variables which generates this position. In this report, a mapping of the Swedish situation for hemp is conducted and suggestions are formulated regarding how actors within the Swedish hemp industry and the Swedish society should act during the years to come.
