Abstract

There is no species-specific basal area growth model for Siberian Larch in Sweden, which is necessary in evaluating forest management decisions. Three different models were created from stand trials around Sweden. An individual tree basal area growth model (BAI1), a per hectare basal area growth model (BAI2) and a model for total basal area production (BAY). The individual tree basal area growth and
the total basal area production models were converted to models for basal area growth per hectare, so that all three could be compared. The BAI2 model gave the best result of the models and showed a clear improvement compared to the previous model used for Siberian larch.
