Abstract

I Vätteskogen utanför Skinnskattebergs tätort pågår ett projekt i tätortsnära skog som SLU Skogsmästarskolan och markägarna Skinnskattebergs kommun och Sveaskog bedriver. Intressenter i form av företag och föreningar har varit involverade genom en deltagande planeringsprocess. En enkätstudie i samband med fältexkursioner med inbjudna intressenter genomfördes under 2018 innan skogliga åtgärder utfördes och år 2020 efter dessa var utförda. Resultatet av enkäterna utgör ett underlag för en analys av hur väl projektet lyckades. Huvudsyftet med det här kandidatarbetet är att analysera hur den deltagande planeringen som utfördes i anslutning till skogliga åtgärder har påverkat de sociala värdena i Vätteskogen. Studien undersökte också ekonomin kopplat till de utförda skogliga åtgärderna samt analyserade enkätsvarens tillförlitlighet. I de bestånd som åtgärdades under projektets gång har majoriteten av intressenterna blivit nöjda med beståndens utseende. Jämförelser mellan grupper av intressenter indelade efter deras intresse visar att det finns små skillnader med hänsyn till hur nöjda de är med åtgärderna. På grund av projektets omfattning och storlek på dataunderlag går det inte att dra några generella slutsatser huruvida deltagande planering i tätortsnära skog är implementerbart. Både på andra platser och som ett verktyg för att anpassa skogsbruket efter de sociala värden olika intressenter ser i skogen. I Vätteskogen har processen lett till ett lyckat resultat. Dels är intressenterna nöjda och dels gav åtgärderna ett positivt ekonomiskt resultat för markägaren.

In Vätteskogen outside the town of Skinnskatteberg, there is an ongoing project run by the Swedish University of Agriculture, the landowners Skinnskatteberg municipality and Sveaskog. Different stakeholders have been involved through participatory planning. A survey with the invited stakeholders was conducted during field excursions in 2018 before different forestry measures and in 2020 after they were performed. The result of the study make up the data for an analysis of how well the project meets its aim. The main objective with this study is to analyse how the participatory planning that was conducted with regards to forestry measures, affected the social values in Vätteskogen. Two other objectives are to investigate the economy linked to the performed forestry measures and to analyse the survey reliability. In the stands included in the project, most of the stakeholders seem to be content with the appearance after the performed measures. Comparisons between groups of stakeholders according to their interest show that there are small differences in their satisfaction with the measures. Due to the extent of the project and the size of the data we are not able to draw any general conclusions of how participatory planning in urban forests is implementable. Neither in any other locations or as a tool to adapt forestry to the social values different stakeholders treasure in the forest. In Vätteskogen the process seems to have led to a satisfactory result, partly because the invited stakeholders are content and partly because the financial result for the landowner was positive.
