Abstract

Investera i ny teknik kan vara en stor ekonomisk ansträngning och ett stort beslut för ett företag. Vid en investering är det viktigt att genomföra flertalet kalkyler och antaganden för att se om den är lönsam och genererar en önskvärd avkastning. I detta arbete har författarna valt att analysera olika investeringskalkyler för att se om utfallet påverkas beroende på investeringsmetod. Syftet är att undersöka om där finns skillnad om kalkylering sker genom payback- eller nuvärdesmetod.
För att genomföra analysen har ett fallföretag använts, Kiviks Musteri AB. Fallföretaget är ett livsmedelsföretag där de producerar olika produkter från företagets egna äppelodlingar inom juice- och dryckesbranschen. Det har genomförts kalkyler av en investering för att illustrera ett empiriskt exempel på en ny tubvärmeväxlare. Mätningar och beräkningar har gjorts av den befintliga inventarien som sedan har jämförts med en ny, för att undersöka om det finns ekonomiska, miljömässiga eller kapacitetsförbättringar. För att sedan analysera de faktorer som företaget inkluderar vid ett beslutsunderlag av en investering.
Investeringskalkylering har genomförts med olika kalkylräntor, 4% respektive 7%. Vid analysen kan författarna dra slutsatser att utfallen skiljer sig åt beroende på vilken investeringmetod som används. Författarna analyserar även hur olika samhällssituationer påverkar beräkning av nya investeringar, samt att vissa enheter som är kopplade till investeringen är svåra att prissätta och inkludera i kalkyler, som mervärden och riskfaktorer.

Investing in new technology can be a big financial investment and a big decision for a business. When making an investment, it is important to carry out several calculations and assumptions to see if the investment is profitable and generates the expected return for the company. In this work, the authors have chosen to analyze different investment calculations to see how the outcome is affected depending on the choice of investment method. The aim is to investigate the difference between the payback method and the present value method and how the different methods can function as decision support in the company's environmental investment.
To carry out the analyses, a case company has been used, Kiviks Musteri AB. The case company is a food company where they produce various products from the company's own apple orchards in the juice and beverage industry. The investment that has been calculated is a new tube heat exchanger for the case company's factory. Calculations have been carried out on the existing tube heat exchanger and then compared what financial savings the company can make by investing in a new tube heat exchanger.
Investment calculation has been carried out with different calculation rates, 4% and 7% respectively. In the analysis, the authors can draw conclusions that the outcomes differ depending on which investment method is used. The authors also analyze how different social situations affect the calculation of new investments, as well as that all units connected to the investment are difficult to price and what added value it can generate for the company instead of a financial value.
