Abstract

This project is focusing on a future park that will surround Hyllie water
tower in the outskirts of Malmö. The water tower will be located in the
central part of the new building area Hyllievång. The park will function
as a town park with a special focus on water. The water council of the
municipality, Va-verket, has for the last 7 years built up and been in
charge for a pedagogical programme in the water tower, were schoolchildren
come to learn about the cycle of water and how we use water
in our daily life. In the park they want to build a new part that gives
experience of water, as a compliment to the information in the tower.
What will that park look like, and what shall it be constructed of?
How do you bring water to the surface in a park? How can landscape
architecture work to enhance the presence of water and make people
more interested in water issues? In the search to find the answers to all
my questions I have meet with people, read books and visited different
places. What comes out is a combination of new experiences and
knowledge about edutaintment and knowledge that I gained during
my education. The proposal is acting as a base for the pedagogical
programme and experimental researches, with different environments
and biotopes. From the alder march to a dry steppe biotope. Waterfalls
and fountains with interaction possibilities sets the focus on the joyful
experience which creates interest and memories with water. With different
materials and details that associate with water and water issues
I want people to reflect on water issues and how important water is for
all life on earth.

Detta projekt fokuserar på en framtida park runt Hyllie vattentorn i
utkanten av Malmö. Parken ska både fungera som en offentlig park i
den nya stadsdelen, men också ingå i den pedagogiska verksamheten
som Va-verket bedriver i vattentornet. En verksamhet som syftar till att
öka kunskapen om vattnets kretslopp, Va-verkets funktion samt hur vi
använder vattnet i vår vardag.
Hur skulle en sådan park kunna se ut och vad ska den innehålla? Hur
lyfter man fram vattnet i vår närmiljö? Hur förmedlar man information
och kunskap i den fysiska miljön på ett lustfyllt och pedagogiskt
sätt? Hur kan landskapsarkitektur bidra till ökad förståelse för vattnets
kretslopp? Under vägen för att ta reda på svaren på mina frågor har
jag träffat ett antal personer, läst böcker och tidskrifter samt besökt och
studerat olika platser och miljöer. Resultatet är en kombination av ny
kunskap bland annat inom det pedagogiska området och kunskap som
jag erhållit genom min utbildning. Förslaget fungerar som en plattform
för den pedagogiska verksamheten utomhus med olika miljöer och
aktiviteter. Brusande vattenfall och fontäner med interaktionsmöjligheter
sätter fokus på den lust uppfyllda upplevelsen som skapar intresse
och minnen. Med olika material och detaljer som associerar till vatten
och vattenfrågor vill jag väcka reflektioner och belysa hur viktigt vatten
är för allt liv på jorden.
