Abstract

Svinn inom primärproduktionen är ett växande problem i dagens samhälle. Vi behöver spara på våra resurser och på sistone har intresse väckts för hur primärproduktionen hanterar sitt svinn. Uppsatsen behandlar ämnet matsvinn inom primärproduktionen av jordgubbar. Få studier har tidigare gjorts på ämnet och texten tar upp hur svinn definieras och de faktorer som är vanliga orsaker till svinnet inom primärproduktion. Jordgubbsodling beskrivs och vad som karakteriserar just svinn inom jordgubbsproduktion. Uppsatsen vill besvara frågor gällande vilka faktorer som bidrar till svinn inom produktionen av jordgubbar, hur mycket svinn som finns inom primärproduktionen av jordgubbar i Sverige och hur matsvinn uppfattas och definieras av jordgubbsodlarna. Uppsatsen utgår från litteratur som finns inom ämnet samt en enkätundersökning riktad till jordgubbsodlare.

Food waste in the primary production is a growing environmental problem in today's society. We need to save our resources and in the last few years the interest has increased for how the primary production is managing its food waste. This essay will address that topic in the primary production of strawberries. Few studies have been done on the topic and the text brings up different aspects of food waste, such as the definition of waste, and the various factors that are common in the primary production concerning food waste. The essay addresses questions regarding factors that are contributing to waste in the production of strawberries, how much waste there is in the primary production of strawberries in Sweden, and how does food waste look like for strawberry growers?
The thesis is based on the literature available on the subject and a survey directed to the strawberry growers.
