Abstract

Skånes potatisodlarförening är en ideell förening som arbetar för dess medlemmar som består av potatisodlare i södra Sverige. Föreningen arbetar aktivt med att skapa en god ekonomi i odlingen bland dess medlemmar och för att stärka potatisens roll som livsmedel. Föreningen består av ca 150 medlemmar varav ca 120 är aktiva. Styrelsen i
föreningen har beslutat att genomföra en undersökning om vad medlemmarna vill att föreningen ska jobba med och satsa på, om stadgarna i föreningen följs m.m. Målet med
arbetet är att få fram ett beslutsunderlag för framtida arbete inom föreningen genom en undersökning bland dess medlemmar. Styrelsen vill skapa en bättre och starkare
förening som medlemmarna kan utnyttja på bästa sätt. Undersökningen omfattas av samtliga medlemmar i föreningen.
Jag har valt att utföra denna undersökning genom ett enkätutskick via mail och fax. Jag har valt att göra ett enkätutskick då en intervjuundersökning hade varit mycket
tidskrävande. Frågorna har utformats i samarbete med Skånes potatisodlarförenings ordförande, vice ordförande samt verksamhetsledare. Enkäten bestod av 14 frågor rörande föreningens stadgar, aktiviteter, storlek m.m.
Svarsfrekvensen blev för låg för att undersökningen skulle kunna säkerställas statistiskt (22,5% svarsfrekvens).

Resultatet av undersökningen visar att merparten av medlemmarna anser att föreningens stadgar följs, och att verksamheten som bedrivs idag fungerar bra. Däremot är det delade meningar vid frågor som handlar om utökning av verksamheten, fler tjänster inom föreningen och organiserade inköp.

Det styrelsen enligt min mening skall arbeta vidare med baserat på resultatet av detta arbete är:
- Anordna flera aktiviteter, t.ex. demo av potatisupptagare eller fältvandringar
- Jobba mycket mot export av potatis om priset är rätt
- Se över möjligheterna för samordnade inköp av förnödenheter
- Få medlemmarna mer intresserade att engagera sig.

Skåne potatogrowers association is a nonprofit organization that works for its members consisting of potato growers in southern Sweden. The association is actively working to
create a good economy in the culture among its members and to strengthen the role of the potato as food. The association consists of about 150 members, of which about 120 are active. The Board of Directors of the Association has decided to conduct a survey on what the members want the association to work with and invest in, if the statutes of the association are followed etc. The goal of this work is to develop a decision-making basis for future work in the compound through a survey among its members. This is to create a better and stronger association members can use in the best way. The survey covered all the members of the association.

I have chosen to perform this investigation through questionnaires sent by mail and fax. I have chosen to do a survey that was mailed because interviewing all members would have been very time consuming. To visit 150 members who all live throughout southern Sweden would have required much more time than the author had available. The job with the survey is completed using the template from the book Survey in Practice-A Handbook of survey methodology written by Göran Ejlertsson. The study is quantitative because the questions are to be answered with YES or NO but the respondent has the opportunity to justify their answers, or come up with reflections on organizational activities in general, which also makes the study to some extent qualitative. The questions were designed in collaboration with the president, vice president and the director of the Skåne potatogrower association. The questionnaire consists of 14 questions concerning statutes, activities, size etc. The response rate was too low for the survey to be secured statistically (just 22.5% response rate), although this result has been analyzed according to a response rate that was high enough.

The results of the survey show that the majority of members feel the statutes are followed, and that the activities carried out today works alright. However, the members are divided by issues relating to expansion of operations, more services within the association and organized purchases. Unfortunately, the response rate was too low to be able to draw any conclusions from the work.

My opinion in what the board should work with based on the result of this study:
- Arrange more activities, for example potato harvester demonstrations or fieldstudys
- Work more with exporting potatoes
- Control the possibility in buying equipment together
- Get the members more interested in committing to the association.
