Abstract

Syftet med det här kandidatarbetet i agronomprogrammet –
landsbygdsutveckling är att undersöka om, och i så fall hur, föreningslivet bidrar till att skapa sammanhållning. Genom att intervjua föreningsaktiva och göra observationer har jag undersökt föreningslivet i ett samhälle på landsbygden. Genom att använda begrepp som bygd, lokal gemenskap och community undersöker jag om föreningslivet
kan bidra till att skapa gemenskap och hur detta går till.
Studien visar att föreningarna där människor träffas genom ett gemensamt intresse också kan bidra till gemenskap lokalt. Genom att föreningslivet är en mötesplats så träffas människor, och när de småpratar, dricker kaffe etc. så överför de också kunskaper om människorna i bygden, vilket skapar en känsla av gemenskap. De kan också upptäcka om det går att lita på andra människor och om det visar sig att det gör det, så kan det också bidra till den allmänna tilliten i samhället. Jag visar också hur den tid som människor vill eller kan lägga ner i föreningslivet förändras beroende på i vilken fas i livet de befinner sig i.

The aim of this bachelor thesis in rural development is to examine whether, and if so, how associations help to create cohesion. I study the associations in a rural community doing intervievs and observations. I examine how the associations can help to create cohesion using concepts such as bygd, local cohesion and community. The study shows that the compounds where people meet over a common
interest may also contribute to the community locally. The associations is venues where people meet and chatting, drink coffe and so on, and at the same time they transferring knowledge of the people in the district which create a sense of cohesion. That people get together in associations and find that it is possible to rely on other people can also contribute to the general trust in society.
I also show that the time people are willing, or able to spend in the voluntary sector are changing depending on what stage of life they are in.
