Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the economic impact of floods on small scale farmers in District Nowshers KP Province (Khyber Pukhtunkhwa) Pakistan. The study shows the devastating effects of flood in 2010 on livelihood of the people and making their life difficult. The research is based on telephonic interviews, literature reviews.
The cases shows that majority of the farmers are facing livelihood issues for their survival. The farmers who are living already in critical condition flood took away the entire livelihood from them and made them more vulnerable. The study also put some light on gender issues during the flood and the role of military, NGOs and government during the flood.
